Hamilton Beach PowerMax Professional Smoothie Blender for Kitchen, 48 oz Jar for Smoothies and Shakes, Gray

I received this blender today and have used it once to make my homemade smoothie and it did an amazing job. Somehow it's quieter than my Black Decker Quiet Blend blender that I purchased from Walmart last July. I am a current associate at Walmart and was not compensated for this review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This PowerMax blender arrived well packaged and in perfect shape. My first impressions were that this was the largest blender I'd ever used. The glass jar holds 48 oz of fluid and the lid fits tightly. Out of curiosity I filled the jar with water, set the lid and tipped the jar upside down. The seal held without issue. As is my habit with new kitchen appliances, I disassemble the jar and ran the entire assembly through the dishwasher to make sure that it was clean for use. Both disassembly and reassembly of the jar was easy. Then it was time to try it out. One of the first things I noticed was the massive drive system for the blender blades. I cannot imagine this beast of a machine to ever lock up for any of the things I use a blender for, but if it does, attached to the power cord are instructions for resetting the blender if the motor should lock. The controls consist of five buttons. Power, low speed, medium speed, high speed and the Pulse button which also serves as a stop button. The Jar locks into the drive mechanism firmly, allowing you to start. My first 'blend' was a tray of ice cubes. a few presses of the Pulse button and I had a jar of shaved ice, a quick rinse of the jar later, I made a jar of smoothies from fresh fruit and yogurt. That turned out perfect. For a third test I made pancakes. I've always used my blenders to mix my pancake batter, and it's a test of the machine to deal with thicker fluids. I had no problem at all mixing my batter in the blender. Clean up was simple, the jar disassembles easily and goes together again just as easily. I highly recommend this appliance. The simple controls and large size make using the blender simple and enjoyable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This blender is definitely powerful! I first used it to make salsa on the #1 setting mix, it turned out perfectly. Then I decided to try the icy drink #2 setting and wow in seconds I had an icee! Could not believe it was so fast and all the ice cubes were puréed. I really like to features that were not on my last blender, first the removable cap can be used as a measuring cup, second the flip top to pour so you don't need to remove lid is very convenient.

It is remarkably powerful and I find myself using it virtually daily. The presets make it foolproof. It is well made and durable. Hamilton Beach is a brand and i know and trust to provide high quality at a reasonable price. I highly recommend.

It has crushed and blended everything I have thrown into it then turned it into a healthy organic drink. The all-metal blades look durable and tough which is great for cutting everything and making smoothies. It is super easy to use, just put ice and fruits with water in it, turn it on and watch the magic happen in seconds. I am happy with it and glad I got this amazing blender. With its blender-ability, I have wonderful smoothies every morning for my whole family. This beast works so much better than my old blender.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This blender makes great smoothies and shakes, as you would expect, but you are certainly not limited to drinks. At the holiday season, I make a cream cheese/ chicken liver spread and I want it smooth. This blender made the job easy and the spread very smooth. The top of the blender container is wide enough to accommodate adding extra ingredients and the sealed controls make cleaning this unit easier. No more worry about smooth sauces and gravy with this blender.

This blender made short work of my fruit purée. It ground the ice like it was nothing. I'm so happy to add this new blender and kick my old one to the curb. I didn't know how powerful this was but the first time I used it, I was amazed. Beautiful design great power.

The front panel clearly indicates the speeds and capabilities to perform many functions. Although the blender is powerful, a longer vertical blade would enhance the frozen crushing capabilities. Overall a high performance blender.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this blender at home. The primary use has been to make fruit smoothies. Overall, I like the blender. I did, however, struggle with the initial directions while putting it together. The directions did not 100% match what I had to do, but I was able to figure it out. You do have to hold the lid on when pouring it, but that's not a big deal. I love the size of the glass container. I can make enough smoothie for the 4 of us who love them at home. The blade is very sharp, so it does an excellent job breaking down the ice so that there aren't any separate pieces. The buttons are easy to use and self explanatory. I'd recommend this blender to anyone who needs an efficient, easy to use blender.
