Great

jpratt December 30, 2013

Love this coffee maker, Excellent tasting coffee! The people that say it drips don't know that there is another filter under the scoop that you put the coffee in and should be rinsed out every so often! Also there is another part under that and should also be cleaned every so often!!!!

Great for a single cup of coffee!

VKNF November 28, 2012

The Scoop Coffeemaker is awesome for making a single cup of coffee or tea! Tastes like it was brewed in a full pot, but quick and cheap---because I use my own coffee instead of expensive single pod. This is perfect for a single person or for the person who just wants one cup in the morning! Easy to use and easy to clean. I love it!

great for the price.

I was looking for a decent single cup coffee maker that did not take those little cups, you would be surprised at how hard it is to find one that is good quality and a reasonable price, this one is it. If you want to use your own coffee and make just 1 cup and not spend a lot of cash, your search is over, buy this and stop looking. Seriously, I am one who spend hours looking up reviews and price comparisons and I did your leg work for you, this even has two temperatures to brew at depending on the grind and strength you want from the brew.

Great for a single cup of coffee

mickey296 December 5, 2012

I checked a lot of reviews before purchasing this coffeemaker. The few poor ones seemed to be consumer error, like the splashing. The device is designed for 2 heights, you need to flip the base over for short cups, no splash. If the coffee is not hot enough or strong enough, I would suggest returning the unit as it is not functioning properly. It is easy to use, easy to clean and makes a cup of coffee in less than a minute.

The best idea for single cups of coffee and tea.

llisamac December 27, 2013

We own a Kuerig, and a percolator. Yes, we like coffee. The Kuerig we have is ok, but I am frugal and was really tired of paying too much for those little plastic pods and then throwing away so much plastic. We tried several different re-usable plastic inserts, to allow us to just add coffee grounds instead of buying the pods, but the taste just wasn't there. We love our percolator coffee, but a lot of the time, we just want one or two cups. This Hamilton Beach "The Scoop" coffee maker is perfect for our needs. Its easy to use, easy to clean and it looks good on the counter top. The reusable filter is great and there is nothing to throw away except for the used coffee grounds. We also like that we can make 8 or 12 ounces of coffee at a time. We also use it with loose tea. I only wish I had purchased this instead of the Kuerig. Once we use up the various pods that we already have, we will be getting rid of it and using this Hamilton Beach for all our single cups of coffee and tea.

Just what my father needed

Sad1e3u5 December 25, 2013

My father is alone now and wasted a lot of coffee fixing a pot of coffee just for him. This maker doesn't need special pods or coffee filters so that I really like. Only thing, we figured it out but not in the instructions, some water stays in the machine, like a reserve so you have to put extra water in the first time to get a full cup thereafter. Looks nice. Only used a few times since he received for Christmas

THIS IS IDEAL FOR MAKING SINGLE CUPS OF COFFEE.

Silas9901 November 26, 2013

BOUGHT THIS AFTER MY OLD COFFEEMAKER QUIT ON ME. GREAT PRICE AND VERY QUICK SHIPMENT TO MY FRONT DOOR. THIS SOMEHOW MAKES A MUCH BETTER TASTING COFFEE THAN MY OLD MACHINE AND I USE THE SAME COFFEE IN THIS AS I DID IN THE OLD MACHINE. CLEANUP TAKES ABOUT 2 MINUTES AND ALL THAT CHROME MAKES IT LOOK MORE EXPENSIVE THAN IT IS. I WAS A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED THAT IT DID NOT COME WITH A LARGE MATCHING COFFEE CUP SO I AM USING MY OLD CUP THAT DOES NOT QUITE MATCH THE DECOR. IT DOES COME WITH TWO SCOOPS AND HAS A HANDY NOTCH ON THE SIDE TO HANG YOUR SCOOP AND KEEP EVERYTHING TOGETHER. VERY QUICK IN PRODUCING A HOT, GREAT TASTING CUP OF COFFEE. HAS NO ALARM TO TELL YOU ITS READY. VERY EASY TO SWITCH FROM LARGE TO SMALL COFFEE CUPS. ONLY USES LOOSE COFFEE, BUT I SUPPOSE YOU COULD CUT OPEN PREPACKED CUPS AND POUR INTO THE SCOOP. IT DOES WHAT IT WAS DESIGNED TO DO VERY WELL. GETS MY RECOMMENDATION.

Messy little thing.

TellitinVA May 19, 2014

I must say that it does make yummy cup of coffee once I got my personal scoop amount figured out. But, the cup height has been a problem for me. I like big mugs of coffee. Neither cup height is working out. The high position is too close to the cup (spills when removing full cup of hot coffee) and the lower position lets coffee splash out while brewing.

Works With No Results.

Disapointed February 14, 2016

It looked like a nice product when I took it out, but when I tried to use it there was nothing but trouble. This is what happened, with the proper type of coffee grounds (drip coffee as mentioned in the manual) and the proper amount to use for a single cup (to the 1st line on the scoop filter), I used Bold to run my first cup. When I start running it, about half way thru the cycle the water and grounds starting running over the sides I had to stop the unit. I tried it again using the same amount of coffee, but put it in the 1st unit, it did the same thing. I them bought some hole bean coffee and ground it on regular drip type, a little coarser then the first I used. When I tried it again, single cup, it ran fine but the coffee came out week and with fine grounds. I tried again with full scoop of coffee, it ran fine but the coffee came out weak with fine grounds in it. I then POURED this cup of coffee over the same grounds in the filter 2 more times, the coffee was still to weak and becoming muddy.

Not what I was expecting. :-(

Tallula December 28, 2012

I was hoping that this coffeemaker would work for me, but I was disappointed in the outcome of this machine. It did not brew the exact amount that it states, brews less than an 8oz cup and not the full 14oz cup that it states in the Demo or the booklet. The setting for the Bold taste for coffee didn't seem to be any more different/bolder than the regular brew button and I was a little worried when ever I would raise the little shelf to set my cup on because it was not level, the factory did not align this machine correctly. I ended up returning it. :-( I was very unhappy with this coffeemaker.
