This has brought so much fun for my guys (husband and older son), they have enjoyed comparing strength and trying to outdo each other. Great price, awesome product! I purchased as as Christmas gift and it was a hit.
I'm going to be turning 80 this year and have been concerned about my poor grip strength. This not only measures grip strength but also can be used to improve grip strength. My maximum grip strength was in the low 50s when I started. I have been doing two minute isometric exercises using this two times on each hand every other day. In about three weeks my grip strength has increased to the mid 70s. It is easy to use and I appreciate being able to get immediate feedback on how I'm doing.
Grip strength is a good measure of overall fitness. Everyone in the house uses this easy to use device to track our strength.
Works exactly like expected, great item.
it works as it should
This hand grip has a digital monitor on the side unlike the one that come on the front so I don't have to turn my hand to look and see what I'm doing. It also has 265 lbs of pressure which is the highest I've seen on these Dyno hand grips. The grip is comfortable and there is an ease to the squeeze on the spring action, I don't feel like I need 2 hands on the grip. This model comes with a 2-year warranty, batteries, it has an auto shut-off and low battery indicator. The display is LCD and it measures in increments of pounds or kilograms you can change it to whatever you want it also shows you the range. A lot of function packed in this tiny little digital hand dynamometer
I got this to track progress while using the Ironmind CoC grippers. Great positive feedback when I get a higher reading. My next short term goal is to make it to 180lb. I passed my earlier 150 lb goal already. Ultimately I want to try to max it out at 200lb. Currently I have pulled a 164lb.
"Prognostic value of grip strength: findings from the Prospective Urban Rural Epidemiology (PURE) study" is a study from 2015 from the Lancet which an utterly interesting research paper that everyone should read. Now there is nothing special about grip strength versus muscle strength elsewhere in the body, its just that grip strength is one of the easiest ways to measure muscle strength, and muscle strength could be the single best measure of someones health and mortality risk. This device works as well as you would expect. Not a bad price.
Digital Hand Dynamometer This device seems to be pretty accurate but even if it isn’t, it provides good reference and comparison points to measure against for both yourself and others. The thing is very consistent and I have had no issues thus far 3 months in.
Good product
