Very well desinged works great for pulling small shrubs by hand and I also use it to drag trash cans during fall clean up eliminates bunding over to drag and the color makes it easy to find.
I have several of this company's products. Well designed and functional.
Bought this to help control Buckthorn, rather than have to use so much herbacide. Well made, sturdy tool, does the job well for stems that are more than 1/8 inch. Works better when the soil is abit moist of course. The tool give you good leverage. If it had different, interchangable pads, with even finer teeth, it might be good for stems that are less than 1/8 inch, which are usually smooth and hard to grab with this Grubber.
Like the handle version for smaller privet hedge- works well on items about 1". Too small shrubs tend to get stripped of leaves but not pull up. The pull lever opens the jaws for easier attachment than the large version.
this product is OK if you are pulling brush with a fair diameter but does not work for small diameter brush --
I purchased this item to remove small oak and gum saplings. Most of them are 1/4 to 3/8 inch in diameter. The tool does not grip the sapling. It just strips off the bark. Anything large enough to grip ( over 3/8 diameter) is too hard to pull up with the tool. It is well made but useless. The gripping end of the tool needs to be redesigned to hold the tree so it can be removed.
It's fairly well made and looks like a good idea. However, it doesn't work on the weeds I have tried it on --- scotch broom and english ivy just slips thru its teeth, and it doesn't even grip brambles. Anything large enough to be captured and gripped with the teeth typically has too much roots for me to pull them out.
