I'm a woman with a broken ankle. I was given that lovely boot and told to wear a moisture-wicking knee sock. My first thought was a tube sock. I was struggling to find such a thing in the womens dept, so off I went to the men's. I'm wearing 2 (1 pair) socks with the boot, and my foot is very comfy and cool while I heal my ankle. I know this is an unconventional review for the actual purpose of these socks, but if they are ideal for my purpose, I'm assuming they would be great for actual moisture-wicking socks. I do plan on continuing to wear them as actual socks when I'm out of this heavy boot!
Good quality as they've been in previous years. I wear as socks under pants but also in the very hot summer I cut off the grey toe area and slide on my arm for perfect sun protection when gardening and hold up under washing. Sure, can buy arm protectors but at 3x's the price and often not washable. Tube socks (no heel) fit all adults, difficult to find in stores any more. Would have liked the option to buy 4 pair but if not an option I'd rather buy this many than not buy any at all.
yes we are loving them and we are hard on socks and shoes and stuff and I used to only go to the sport place and get them but these are wonderful wonderful quality soft and they stay that way after washing and drying down very much so appreciate them
The only brand of white ankle socks to get. Especially if you and the spouse wear the same socks. Just remember to wash in cold water and melt some Borax in a cup of hot water to add to the Tide. Helps them stay white without bleach. We wear them until they wear out and then get another pack. They last almost 2 years if you take care of them.
I bought these for my husband, and they're one of the few he likes. The newer ones that have all of the "new technologies" incorporated in them - he absolutely HATES! He's said that most of them are way too small, cut off circulation around the tops of them (both on the ankle and calf styles) and around the center of the foot, and other issues. These socks are not shrunk down like the newer ones- those that look like they're for toddlers- and the fit is comfortable, snug but not restrictive, and are a great value. I truly wish that companies would stop "upgrading" products that customers have loved and used for years! It's pathetic that everyone thinks that they have to change everything to "new and improved" - when the truth is that all they're doing is creating something that most people don't want or like. There's a reason why there's the saying = Don't change what isn't broke!! JMO!! I would recommend this product, especially for those who have sensitive feet, or those who need socks that fit but are not extremely tight or restrictive.
This is going to sound strange, but I am an older woman, and I wear socks to bed (childhood trauma)! I would love for them to be a bit bigger as I like loose socks that do not feel like they are choking your feet. These fit the bill as close as what I am looking for. They are comfortable and soft on your feet.
The cotton content has gone down and these are slowly turing into mostly polyester socks. I use to purchase these socks because they were high cotton content, because my sons feet sweat when its mostly a poly blend. Looks like hanes lost a customer. Also, we don’t need more plastic in our clothes, we need to stop the toxicity.
Do not buy. The quality of the material used to make these socks is very cheap. I use to always pick Hanes because of the quality of the materials used. Not anymore. Do not buy. These are the worst socks I’ve ever bought. If I didn’t already throw the packaging away. I would return them.
They changed the design and LOWERED the quality. I have been buying Hanes Men's Ankle Socks for a decade. There was less design strength in the ankles of the new socks then the strength in the ankles of most of the socks I was about to replace. I will never buy Hanes Men's Ankle Socks again.
I bought these is February. By April almost every sock had at least one hole in the toe. I would not call these durable. The first sock got a hole within 2 weeks. I thought it was our error or one defective item. However, after 4 months and having to toss almost the entire batch, I'm sure this product isn't built to last.
