I picked this up the other day and have to say, I quite like it. It does swatch horribly however; it comes off as very patchy and chalky. But, when I apply it to my cheeks with a fan brush or tapered brush, it looks nice and smooth. It's subtle and can be built up a tad, but I don't think it will be a bam-in-your-face kind of glow (maybe wetting your brush will help, though), but the sheen it gives off is pretty. It does have a slight purple shift to it, but not so much that you can't wear it for everyday or daytime looks. It has great lasting power on my oily skin, and for $6 I definitely recommend, especially if you're looking for a not-so-average highlighter.
There is virtually no color pay off on this. It's chalky and the glitter is huge and chunky. You may see some glitter on your face but that's it. I didn't notice anything holographic about it. This is one of those where it's cheap but not worth buying. Ulta had better highlighters if you can't afford the real thing
Maybe I'm just picky with my makeup, but I searched everywhere for AFFORDABLE iridescent highlighters. I came across this one and I like hard candy so I thought, "Awesome, exactly what I'm looking for!" I ordered it for store pickup so I waited 2 days on it, super excited for it to come in. When I got it out, I could tell even inside the packaging, it's literally white powder with chunks of blue and purple glitter. Had I seen it in person first, I would've put it back on the shelf. I could've returned it, but for 6 bucks I thought it was worth it to not judge it without testing it. The swatch was awful (white powder with chunks of glitter) And it was SO dry. Like rubbing on paper.. Like you could actually hear it. But I gave it ONE more shot with a highlighter brush. No white powder which was good, but no color pay off either. Literally just glitter all over my face. Not my kinda thing. If you're looking for affordable highlighters, even an iridescent/lilac one, try the wet n wild highlighters. They are so creamy and pigmented, and $2 cheaper. I hate to be this person but I try to leave the same detailed, honest reviews that I look for when blindly buying an online prodcut, ESPECIALLY makeup. I promise you won't be disappointed with the wet n wild ones!!
The pearl color is nice-ish but doesn't stay with any primer or setting spray I've tried and the kickback is too much. So much powder and no pigment. I won't buy this one again.
