Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 8, Portable stereo Bluetooth speaker

locked in for life with these gems!! i stole my first HK (dont remember but the model but it had no handle, 2 legs with round rubber feet and a cut out at the top back to carry) from my wife and fell in love. then i heard rhe onyx 8 and was shown how they sink up now im on my 8th "onyx 8" pair of speakers. one is excellent but to sinked via AI is majestic. i. cant stop ordering these for my true music head kids and my music head friends!!

To only be a 50 watt speaker the bass on the Onyx Studio 8 is crazy especially if it has walls around to vibrate off it sounds more like 100w speaker it puts the Charge 6 to shame even the Extreme 4 I love it

My last purchase of this Harman Kardon speaker brings me up to my 8th. I am in my 70's and past my prime of being a music/techie. However I entered a store and was stopped in my tracks over the incredible sound of the establishments background music. I asked a young man what I was hearing and he pointed to a single speaker. This Harmon Kardon Onyx 8. I purchased 2 on the spot despite buying speakers was the last thought on my mind. I have sice purchased 6 more for gifts as others have the same reaction I didon that fateful day of hearing this speaker for the first time. I decided to try on of the Onyx 9 since it is a newer version. The 9 is a huge disappointment in comparison to the 8.

Sound was excellent. Esthetics, also excellent. Doesn't look like your typical Bluetooth speaker. The bad. I ordered two to specifically run in stereo. The process to pair them together is ridiculously problematic. Once I did finally get them paired, one speaker had a charging error of some type. Nothing I tried could alleviate the issue. Very disappointing. These big names could learn a lot from Soundcore on user friendliness

One of the best sounding %26 efficient portable speakers I've encountered. Takes up slightly more room than some, but the sound is worth the slightly large larger size. Battery life is not quite as long as some smaller options. Works well connected to AC outlet, which is the only charging option as well. No USB. Highly recommended for anyone wanting or needing quality sound from a portable speaker.

The device is quite large and heavy for a Bluetooth box - at least compared to the portable bluetooth boxes on the market. However, it is probably more intended for home use and less for outdoors. The handle makes it easy to carry from room to room. The box is quickly connected to the mobile device and the functions can be executed via a few buttons. These are not necessarily self-explanatory - e.g. the earpiece button is also used to skip tracks - but are well explained in a quick guide. The sound is much better compared to smaller (and also cheaper) bluetooth speakers, especially the bass is heard more. The round shape also contributes to the surround sound. Visually, I like the box well and fits well into many interior styles.

a great speaker with a good sound. it can easily be carried in the hand. I think it's great that there are different colors. the speaker doesn't take up much space. In general the quality of the device is wonderful.

I bought this for my sisters birthday (Onyx Studio 8 in Champagne). She loves it. However there IS a small issue with this speaker. Anything below about 1/2 volume sounds amazing, but anything above it starts to sound over driven and the Bass becomes flat and dull. Other than that minor issue, it's a great speaker and my sister loves listening to her country music with it.

I love how these speakers both look and sound and my stars would go to 11, except...the software to link two together is just horrible. Ill do exactly what HK says to do to link them and it will fail 4 out 5 times or more. Then when Im about to give up and send them back, they link and I do love the sound. Furthermore, they disconnect whenever the TV they are attached to stops at the end of a movie or turns off, making me start all over linking them again! I e been leaving them linked to SiriusXM all night, but often forget and have to go through another 20 min long link together session. Ugh. Sadly these speakers are last generation so I don't expect a software fix, but since they are still selling them and this should not be so hard, I hope Im wrong about this.

This speaker is good if you're just running one. However, I purchased two Onyx Studio 8's. When I first got them, it wasn't easy, but I could get them to pair; now, I can't. I am using Pandora and I've tried both my iPhone and Android. I read where Android paired easier, but now, neither one will run both speakers, channel A & B. I can run both speakers individually with either phone, but they won't play together.
