I got the Onyx 9 about a month ago and I am so happy with it! It's super intuitive to use and easy to move around for even better audio wherever you are. The app makes it easy to adjust some things to your preferences. The sound quality is amazing! And charging the Onyx is quite fast
The Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 9 is a very decent Bluetooth speaker. The design is very nice with both speakers in the front and in the back and due to its slim design it can easily be places on narrow surfaces such as a windowsill for example. The sound quality of the speaker is great both at low and high volume. The Harman Kardon One app makes provides you with an equalizer to further adjust the sound to your liking. Due to the large built-in battery (lasted up to 8 hours) the speaker is very portable and you can take it along wherever you go around the house/ garden. As a Bluetooth speaker for me this is the best one I have ever had. It would have been nice that the speaker would have had the possibility for a Wi-Fi connection. But if you ale looking for a Bluetooth speaker with both a great design and superb sound quality this speaker is the way to go.
I have good ears for music. As such, I look for a speaker system that is music to my ears. The Herman Kardon Onyx speaker is my choice. I previously owned the Onyx 4 that I have been very satisfied with. Confidently, I purchased the Onyx 9 knowing that the sound quality would be excellent. I was not disappointed. The realism of the music from Onyx 9 is impressive--- crisp and immersive, even at a low volume. Aesthetically, the Onyx 9 is solidly built. Its elegance adds to the decor of the room. The only feature I did not see in the Onyx 9 is the telephone capability which the Onyx 4 has. Nevertheless, I love the Onyx 9 (from the bottom of my heart), and would highly recommend it to others.
I don't even have the speaker I just want to say that it's probably the most attractive Bluetooth speaker I've ever seen. (The Only exception is the Sony X5. You know what I'm talking about? The X5 was definitely a pioneer in the luxury Bluetooth speaker game it's only competition was the Bose soundlink mini, and even though the Bose was louder, the X5 definitely edged it out. The sound quality was just world's better than the Bose.)
I used to have the onyx 6 but the 9 is best to none
Absolutely love these speakers! Crisp, clean, sound deep base I couldn't be happier!
It's bigger than I expected, which makes it less likely to be moved around much. It looks good. Works fine in our basement. Sound is pretty good. Heavy on bass. I'd recommend setting it up in areas that are more open and away from walls or blocked by any objects.
Everytime you take a break from streaming for more than a few minutes it automatically shuts off and you have to keep turning it on everytime you come back from a 2 minute break so I worry that the buttons will eventually be the first thing to go! Turning it on 5 times a day and then turning it up and adjusting it- the buttons are going to wear out soon, oh well! It should stay on and connected to the blue tooth for at least 15 minutes or until you turn it off l.
Get ready to invite a beast into your music world. The pictures on this site don't prepare you for how large and heavy this speaker is. Mind you, that's a good thing! Thanks to its weight, it feels sturdy and balanced and produces a loud and strong bass. The rubber padding under the unit makes sure it doesn't slip or slide and adds to the general luxurious feel of the unit. The brushed aluminum is a joy to watch and touch. Other units on the market provide 360º audio, this unit only provides audio in one direction, allowing you to pair it with other units to get a “stereo” sound. The unit is very bass-heavy and even when tweaking with the Harman Kardon One app, I couldn't find a good setting for classical music. Pop music and electronic music in general sounds great, with still that very strong bass present, but that doesn't impede the great sound quality you get with this unit.
