Harry Connick, JR. - Your Songs - Music & Performance - CD

Harry Connick Jr's voice flows are smoothly as fine red wine in a chilled glass, or perhaps a light silk bedsheet on a Summer clothesline. The particular standouts for this CD, to me are "All the Way" and "Can't help falling in love with you". I just love the new spin on these old familiar songs. Harry Connick Jr may be singing older songs, that we all know well, but nothing is bland or boring on this CD. All the songs are fresh and new. and Harry's voice has never been better. Ever. His voice just makes you want to lay down and sigh. To sum up. Old songs. New way Same great voice

This to me was so nice to listen too. I enjoyed the twist on some of the old classics.Found this to be a great easy listening .great album to own so you wont be dissapointed if you buy it

Listening to Your Songs is like stepping into a time machine. Harry Connick Jr. does not loose the general essence of the music but rather gives it an upbeat modern feel. Enjoying the cd has been a great way to lift my spirits. I find myself leaving it on for long periods of time as background music. I know that it may not be the most modern music available but who says that something old has to be bad?

I didn't know a thing about Harry Connick, Jr., when I received this album to review, so I had no expectations. I've enjoyed it! It's full of familiar classics, which I liked. I like to play it while I go about my day - it's soothing and relaxing. There are no big artistic changes made to the songs, which I appreciated, and Connick's voice is pleasant without being especially distinctive or distracting. The "big band" sound of the backgrounds was familiar and calming as well. Recommended.

I've only really listened to a few Harry Connick Jr songs and wasn't a huge fan. This cd made me a fan, though! I love his takes on some of these oldie songs, lending jazzy notes and a bit of a kick to them, making them more relevant for today and totally hitting the mark!

I really like Harry Connick Jr. and the way he sings. He sings a great variety of different songs which most everyone can recognize and most likely sing along to. His voice is so soft and soothing. It's a great way to relax at the end of the day.

I first fell in love with Harry Connick, Jr. during the movie When Harry Met Sally. Since then, I have enjoyed his music and acting like on Will and Grace. Well, this album is just another great addition to his collection of work. They are songs I grew up with, and can be listened with friends, parents and kids. I love sharing these songs in the new iteration by Harry Connick, Jr. I even prefer his version of Your Song more than Elton John’s original! It’s a great album.

Although I have been a fan of Harry Connick, Jr. (actor and singer) for many years, I must admit that this is the first album of his I have listened to from start to finish, repeatedly. As a fan of all music genres, I really enjoyed the blend of new and old songs on this album. I found myself singing along to many of the songs in the car. My three year old even danced along to the music! This is a wonderful, romantic album and I have recommended it to many friends and family members. If you are looking for a great album from start to finish, look no further than "Your Songs."

I love Harry Connick Jr., but I did not love this CD. It is definitely worth listening to but did not earn a long term spot in my CD changer's rotation. I think Harry is at his best doing original material rather than putting his classic/jazzy spin on the music of other greats. He has a style all his own and should capitalize on that and original material. If I had to pick one song on the CD as a favorite, I would say 'Besame Mucho' is the winner, so smooth. My least favorite was 'All The Way', I love the song and Ol' Blue Eyes, but Harry's version was so similar to Frank's that I didn't see the point in his singing it. Usually when Harry does his own rendition's of famous songs, I end up loving it, but this CD just didn't do it for me. As a side note, my favorite Harry Connick Jr. song of all times is 'When My Heart Finds Christmas' from his CD of the same name. I LOVE THIS SONG!!! It is the only Christmas song I listen to year round, if you haven't heard it, you're missing it. I still love ya, Harry! :)

Harry's past CD have been great and he has a wonderful and soothing voice. However, I was not drawn to this particular CD. None of the songs were memorable. The songs were OK and unfortunately, even though I do like Harry, this CD is not my cup of tea. This is not to say that other Harry fans won't like this though. Sorry Harry.
