This is up there in the good tool dept. I'm really impressed with this tape measure. We go through them pretty often. Either they break, or misplaced. So I'm always looking for quality tape measures. I. Would absolutely recommend this one to anyone. The belt clip is sturdy and well made. The whole tape measure is well made and sturdy. I will be using it on many projects I have coming up
I really like this very sturdy tape measure made by Hart. It has some features my other 2 tape measures that I own lack. The Hart 16 ft Pro Grade has a temporary hold and stop on the bottom that you can put your index finger on and hold for a temporary hold and stop and or to slow the retraction of the blade to protect your fingers from cuts from the metal tape retracting. The tape measure feels comfortable and like a substantial tool in the hand. The spring recoil of the tape blade is quite strong. Other features the Hart Pro Grade has that my other tape measures do not is the body is completely rubberized including the lock button. I also like the feature of the widened blade, easy to read numbers and fraction markings, and the oversized end hook. Another cool feature is the Magnet at the end of the tape. I tried extending the blade when i attached it with ONLY the magnet to the side of my washing machine to see how far I could stretch the tape out before the magnet would lose grip. Well the Hart Pro Grade held firm at an impressive 65 inches and lost grip at 66 inches. This tool also has an oversized blade which is 1 3/16 inches wide instead of the pretty standard size of 3/4" blade width. The extra width makes the number and fraction markings so much easier to read for a person like me who wears glasses and has decreased vision. It also has a wire form clip that that I clipped to a thin t-shirt and could not shake it off, Now that is grip-clip power! In my opinion this is a quality tool to carry on your tool belt or just to have in your at home tool box. I really didn't see many Cons with this item except maybe you must be careful with the fast recoil of the tape and remember to keep your index finger on that blade stop button so you don't accidently get cut. I received my product to review without charge from the Spark Reviewer Program but Never the less this is my honest opinion of this product.
This is a heavy duty well made tape measure. My husband is constantly building things with metals. I got this for him as part of a promotional review program. He loves it. It tight and rewinds great, not sticky like some. It appears to be made very well and is heavy in weight, not just heavy duty made.
This is the best tape measure I've ever owned hands down. It's got a nice protective rubber/silicone type outer shell that not only protects the case itself and your hand but has a nice smooth feel to it that makes it nice and easy to hold, got a nice grip to it. The belt clip on it is very durable and the magnetic end piece actually has enough strength to allow you to pull the tape out when it's stuck to a surface and hold it there. The fraction markings are super convenient rather than having to count how many 8ths or 16ths I'm on, the 8ths are marked right there using actual fractions, 1/8, 2/8, 3/8, etc., so figuring those out is much faster and easier. Also on top of being magnetic the stopper plate is extra large and at a nice right angle which makes hanging on surfaces much easier.
It feels very sturdy and seems durable. It's a bit heavy which adds to the feeling of it being heavy duty. The strip itself looks sturdy and I could extend it into the air for about 10.5 feet before it broke down. There is a little clipper on the backside which comes handy if you want to attach it to your your pants and thus freeing your hands while working on something else. There is small drawback on this tape however, which is the lack of metrics unit. There's only imperial measurements printed on the strip. Not enough of a problem to remove a star out of five, but maybe half a star. Overall, this is a sturdy unit that would last for a long time, maybe even a lifetime.
We are in the middle of a remodel in our basement and needed a tape measure for this project. This provides a sturdy, accurate, and hooks and stays in place on anything you hook the tape measure to. This is a more heavy duty metal tape measure so it made it efficient for measuring longer distances.
This is the most ritzy and nice tape measure I've ever seen! The numbers are super big and easy to read and it is built very tough. I've used it for a few different jobs and with each job, the tape measure was easy to read and easy to use. I've showed it to a few family members and they commented how nice of a tape measure it is! I definitely recommend this to anyone who has trouble reading the small numbers and markings on other tape measures.
I've always had a problem with other tape measures, and the small lines. My eyesight isn't the best, and trying to count them, and figure the measurement always took multiple tries. This new HART 16-Foot Pro Grade Tape Measure with Fraction Markings sure helped with that. I can see exactly where I need to, and it's already marked in the small spots. Easy to use, locks in place and isn't too heavy. One thing I would change, is when you pull out the tape, it is backwards from the front (or side) with the logo, which makes it a bit confusing. Other than that, it's easy to use. I'm going to be hiding this one from my husband, so he doesn't take it in the garage!! I would definitely recommend it for those that need a little help in the measurement department.
Bought for myself but gave to my boss because I was looking for a smaller overall tape for my hip pouch. The magnet is strong and it has another feature that I didn't quite realize, a push button stop underneath the tape. This feature slows the tape until you're ready to lock it entirely. Nice wasn't expecting all that for the price. The tape is wide and strong. My boss and I were both empressed by how far the tape opened before it bent. Nice job Hart!
This is a fairly heavy (and seems heavy duty) tape measurer. It seems to me that the “tape” part is slightly larger than normal ones I'm used to. The end of the tape measured has a magnet you can use to stick the tape part also you don't have to hold, but as I feel I normally use a tape measurer with wood or against a wall/Sheetrock, that won't necessarily come into handy that often for me. It also has a clip on the back to clip to pants.
