If you already have hart tools you have extra batteries and chargers. This and my 15 min mow, smallish yard led me to this purchase. Very happy with it, get extra string for it. This will not clean out larger weeds and grass. Get 40 volt and larger unit for a larger job. For a small to med yard. does fine.
It could be better, but for $58 it's what I expected. I'm short, so my trigger arm/elbow is high in the air. A little uncomfortable, so wish it had adjustable shaft length. I've found that using at 13” cut, the line will “walk” instead of cut, if trying to cut thick grass. 11” length works just fine. The variable speed is a nice feature, as is the swivel edger with wheel. I did remove the wheel because I don't need it and it sometimes snagged on our shrubs and flowers. I don't have any issue with automatic feed each time it's turned on. Just be sure to hold the unit at an angle when starting up or you may get hit in the shin with a piece of cut line. I have a smaller yard, but I also do my neighbor's lawn. I already have many HART 20v batteries, and the 4 Ah will do both yards with battery to spare. The unit is also quieter than expected. All in all, it's a great trimmer for $58!
I've been using the Hart 20V 13" String Trimmer and Edger for over a week now, and I really like it for light yard work. It's lightweight, easy to handle, and the battery-powered convenience is a huge plus—no cords or gas hassle. The auto-feed line works well, and switching to edger mode is super simple. It gives my lawn a nice clean edge. Battery life is okay (around 25 mins), so I'd recommend a second battery if you have a larger yard. It's not the most powerful trimmer out there for heavy vegetation or trimming, but for regular trimming and edging, it gets the job done. For the price, I'm really happy with it.
I love this trimmer, I'm 73 years old and this makes trimming easy!! I have a Hart brand vacuum as well so I keep one battery charging so I have backup.
This is a very powerful electric weed eater. It's also good sized and not too small, which I liked as a taller person. Has a high and low setting, which you base on the job. I have not used the edger function, but it is easy to turn into an edger. A full battery lasts for both the front and back yard.
Overall nice back up and great for residential use. Don't expect much out of the string though. Would recommend getting better string.
Hart is the premium tool brand for Walmart made in the same factory as Milwaukee. Yet the only set back on this trimmer is the conversion to edge trimmer mode back to normal trim mode is difficult. blue lever get stuck and hits the wheel. a great design flaw
Surprisingly heavy for this brand. Works fine. Handle grip adjustable. Handle length is not. “Step for edge trimming” feature is wonky. Difficult to return to standard trimming mode. Wheel was a nice idea, but poor design execution. For the price, worth it.
It trims well for the price, but i had my string sticking out a couple inches past the guard, and instead of cutting the string, the part of the guard with the cutter broke off.
Stopped working after second use.
