The Hart 20V weed sprayer is an act of engineering brilliance! I always disliked lugging around a 2 gallon hand pump sprayer. It took a lot of pumping to keep the pressure up and two gallons ran out so quickly. The Hart 20 volt, four gallon sprayer has a built in pump that is powered by a rechargeable Lithium battery that lasts me all day. Now I can spray for 8 hours and barely work up a sweat. The sprayer comes with backpack style padded shoulder straps. At 65 years old I find it a bit heavy when full. So I shock corded it to a hand truck with oversized wheels. Now I can easily cart it almost anywhere. If I need to go deep into the underbrush I only fill the tank half full and wear it on my back. I own several Hart 20 volt power tools and they have always served me well. This unit uses the same battery and charger which is included. It is wonderful to have extra batteries around. This unit is only used for spraying weeds. My next Hart 20 Volt 4 gallon sprayer I plan on using for a camp shower. All I need to do is remove the spray wand, thread a shower head on and fill the tank with warm water. The adjustable pressure knob delivers up to 90 psi; more than most home water systems. When I get a second unit and complete the conversion I will leave a 'how to' review.
This is the first battery operated sprayer I have owned, but with 5 acres of land and a gypsy moth infestation it was time to switch from the hand pump. Right out of the box instructions were easy to follow, assembly was straight forward and battery charged quickly. Unlike the Hart 2 Gallon Backpack Sprayer, the harness is attached to this unit. Tank has a large opening with a removable strainer to keep debris out. Hose and spray wand are located on the right side of the unit, which is perfect for the right handed individual like myself. Completely full with 4 gallons of liquid it was difficult to put on. With trial and error I have learned to adjust straps to fit comfortably while the sprayer is empty, fill the tank, then place the tank on a raised surface and just back up to it to slip the straps over my shoulders. With padded shoulder straps and a center front strap, the fit was secure and comfortable. The unit comes with an adjustable cone nozzle and fan nozzle. Control knob, with infinite settings between minimum and maximum, was easy to reach on the left side of the unit. I can't comment on the psi (pounds per square inch) for this unit, however the pressure was sufficient to reach trees 15 feet into the air. The tank pressurized very quickly and the noise level was low. Translucent tank is marked with measurements in litres and gallons for accuracy when filling. Trigger lock is a nice feature for continuous spray. When not in use, the battery and charger can be stored in a hinged compartment on the back of the unit. This is a great sprayer and the battery is interchangeable with other Hart tools. If you are looking for a self-powered battery operated garden sprayer, check this one out
I was looking for an improvement to the current 2 gallon hand pumped sprayer that I currently had. I was getting tired of having to mix chemical twice and then hand pump for the pressure. The Hart 4 gallon chemical sprayer hit the spot for having the capacity and being a battery operated sprayer. The harness is similar to a nice hiking backpack as it has the front strap. The shoulder straps are properly padded to provide comfort for the bigger capacity that this unit provides. It can be a heavier unit for a smaller person, but the proper support is there for it. You can see in the picture on the left side of the unit is a blue turn knob. That controls the pressure of the sprayer and is very easy to utilize while the unit is on your back. On the lower back of the unit is the flip door for where the 20 volt battery goes into. I especially like this as it provides protection to the battery from any of the outside elements you may encounter. The container also has the markings for each gallon, so you are able to use less than 4 gallons and accurately do mixtures. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the Hart 20-Volt 4 Gallon Chemical Sprayer.
WOW!!! What a nice Hart Sprayer. I did not like having to pump my old four gallon sprayer up all the time I am using it. This Hart Sprayer is not heavy and really easy to put on or not if I choose to just carry it. And for me the battery charge lasts for more than I need to get my job done. The nice long sprayer hose is really great too.
I think it's a great product, but it was defective
I have been very happy overall with the Hart brand of cordless tools and this sprayer is a nice addition to my set. The quality is good, battery lasts, but my only concern is I don't see a use for it more than a few times a year. I would recommend it highly for someone in the business or property caretaker. Very nice item.
The backpack design, and the way it's laid out to be able to spray is amazing. But the batteries definitely do not work for a long period of time! The longest time I have gotten on a battery is about five hours. And now when we charge it, it only lasts about two.
Pump worked and it wouldn't pump any solution up to the wand I returned it for a refund.
The pump quit working during the first use. Cannot get customer support. Not sure what the issue might be. Could be the dial-switch or the pump. Waited on hold forever. No response at the "faster-online" chat support outlet either. Still trying to get assistance from HARTTOOLS product support.
I bought this and charged the battery and fill everything with lawn required herbicice and otherthings, hart sprayer doesn't work at all i tried to restart more thsn one hour but doesn't work, I don't the money i spend for this is worth or no. I have so many other tools of Hart that works great but this item i feel wrong choice, i lost my trust.
