This tape measure is wonderful. It. Has a clip to hook it to your pants but the tape is very heavy and will weight down your pants. I have my tape stored in my truck so it is always close at hand when I need it!! I recommend to home owner and contractors who want a heavy duty well made tape measure.
Weighing in at almost 1.5 pounds, I really like this very solid, commercial grade tape measure. It has a lot of great extra's not found in less expensive tapes, like the built-in magnet on the tip to hold the end against any metal object. The tape itself is very thick metal, allowing it to extend out over 8 feet without bending (see the picture), which is great when working along and not having an extra set of hand to hold the end. I am sure this tape will last for many years.
The HART 35-Foot Magnetic Pro Grade Tape Measure is an awesome addition for DIYers toolbox. I love that fraction markings are included for those of us who don't know how to read it. It has nice weight to it, not flimsy or cheap feeling. It's very helpful to have a magnetic hook on the end, and there's a blade stop button also. I'm always using a tape measure around the house from home improvements to hanging up picture frames to putting up shelves. I would definitely recommend this nice tape measure.
My husband and I have been renovating and remodeling homes (ours, our children's, and rental properties) for over 40 years. We've used other famous brand tape measurers which served their purpose and did what we consider…a fine job. But the HART 35-Foot Magnetic Pro Grade Tape Measure is, with no exaggeration, the top of the line, bordering on luxury! Our recent experience using The Hart 35 is from a new project – building a new 2nd story deck with the framework, planking, and railings. The tape easily slides about 12 feet out without kinking or bending when flat on the floor! The rubber housing feels comfortable and secure in the hand. It's bigger and heavier than the other tape measurers we've owned but it fits well in smaller hands (mine, for instance) and is not hard to handle. The tape's curved width is about 1 and 3/8 wide and the markings are large and bolded, and the fraction markings, alternating in red and black, are easy to read. The Blade Stop Button allows you to extend the tape and get your reading. When released, it will automatically recoil quickly! (ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES!) There is an additional button on the base of the roll (not all models have this) which is used for pausing the length as well. By far, this is the best item of its kind on the market, in our concerted opinion. We would buy this in other lengths for smaller jobs.
This is an excellent tape measure from Hart. It's a bit on the big side so if you clip it to a tool belt it gets in the way a bit. However, the stiff wide tape is worth the extra size. I love the magnet tip on the end of the tape. I can find an exposed nail head and use that as an anchor if I'm careful. That's a really nice feature that I've not had on a tape before. The lock works well and the brake is good for slowing down retractions. I've extended this tape out to 13 feet without support which is awesome.
This tape measure rolls up and unrolls smoothly. You can lock it in place easily. It has a magnet on the end. It doesn't bend easily when stretched. My only complaint is the weight. This sucker is heavy. But my father in law reminded me it was 35 feet of metal strip. So yeah, it suppose to be heavy.
This tape has some weight to it. It is nice as it does not drop or bend when out over 12 feet. It is thick not flimsy like most tapes. I have a lot of tapes and now this is my favorite. I also like that it has the cheat marks as well. Another nice feature is the release button on the bottom of the tape. It retracts fast and even. This tape is a keeper. I definitely recommend it.
My old 20' tape measure finally bit the dust so I replaced it with the Hart HR 35 Pro Wide Tape. I really like 3 things about this tape measure. First, the wide blade will extend out an incredible 10 feet without collapsing. Second, the powerful magnet on the hook will snap to a nail or other metal object and allow you to pull out the measure without actually needing to hook over the item. Third, the push button 'brake' on the underneath side allows you to lock the tape momentarily without sliding the lock on the main unit. The units are clearly marked which is easy on my eyes. All in all, I look forward to using this tool for a long time to come.
There are two features I look for in a good tape measure and this one checks both boxes. The first and most important to me are the markings. This one includes markings every 1/8" so you can quickly and accurately get your measurement. The second feature I look for is for it to be sturdy and have a good standout distance. For those who are not familiar, standout basically refers to the length you can extend the tape without it bending. This one boast a 9 foot length which is more than enough for most solo projects. There are a couple additional features I want to mention as well. It has a wider blade at 3/4" and as you can see in one of my pictures it has a 2nd button on the bottom to hold when you do not want it to retract or to slow it before the end when you are retracting which is helpful and protects the hook from damage. It also has a pretty powerful magnet in the hook which is another feature that makes it easier to use solo. Overall this is a great tape measure and is now the go to for my toolbox.
Hart has many types of tape measure, but the cheap ones I didn't even bother with. I want good tools, and want to know if Hart makes good tools - not cheap tools. So, at the time of purchase this was their top of the line, but the price still very reasonable. This is by far the best tape measure I have. The tape is huge, and numbers huge, easy to read. I measured something like 12 or 13 feet of standout, which is insane for a tape measure of this price. Kudos Hart, this is a good one. My only complaint at all is its size - this is not a toy. If you have small hands, you may want to get a feel on one in store before buying. For example, this isn't one you would or could throw in your pocket easily. But, that's not what I bought it for, so still 5 stars in my book.
