I've only had it for a few days now but it's simple to use really easy to use so easy that my fiancé could do it. The self-propelled is just amazing and the battery so far has held up. My only concern is the battery. and even though it was on sale the $**** price mark seems a little high
I broke my last gas mower because I can't measure oil to save my life. I have a basic sized yard and this thing is perfect for what I need. long lasting battery. The assembly took like 5 seconds. I can even use the remaining battery power to use my HART edger and blower too. W product for the price.
This is an awesome piece of machinery. It cuts everything in it's path very well... it chews up the toughest weeds .... my back yard had 8' .. yes foot tall weeds from not being able to do it (I'm disabled" but this did an amazing job and has variable speeds of self propelledness .. very easy for my terrible knees and back
The lawnmower runtime with a fully charged battery is great. The mower arrived a 40V fast charger, which is compatible with the entire lineup of Hart 40v tools and batteries. The included mulching attachment makes even the largest of leaf piles manageable. The dual blade technology cuts well and comes out of the box reasonably sharp. One of my favorite features of the mower is its Folding ability, effectively cutting the overall height in half when not in use, and standing the mower upright once folded gives you access to the undercarriage in the event you need to clear any obstructions. My favorite feature is the self propulsion system built into lawnmower. Due to the unevenness in my yard, it can sometimes be hard to push and pull the mower through the various and dips in my yard, but the propulsion system takes a lot of that strain away. My only advice when using that feature. Is to start on the lowest setting and adjust as needed. The higher you said the propulsion system the more strain it will put on the battery so that is just something to be aware of.
With how light it is, there are times that the lawn mower's front end raises if you're trying to go any speed higher than low. I ended up putting bricks where the second battery storage area - just to make sure the grass gets cut evenly. If your yard isn't level, there are also problems with getting the grass cut to consistent lengths. I love the bagger and ease of use; the double blade is amazing!
Walmart employee here, so take this with a grain of salt. When using the self-propel function, you ARE using an electric motor, and it will affect your battery life. When you are using the self-propel, find the speed you want to go, and tape/cover the speed switch. The slightest touch and you are trying to catch up to your mower. I also have the 40v string trimmer, so I have 2 batteries. Those 2 batteries cover my entire property quite well (a little over half acre). One thing I do like about it is since it is not as loud as a gas mower, I can use it while the wife is sleeping (she works nights). Storage is easy enough... fold it up and put it away. Power level - Use it for what it is (a battery powered mower), and don't try using it for what it's not (bush hog). It cuts grass well, but starts bogging down when it runs up into the kudzu or other larger vines. I've had good luck with mine so far, hopefully you will too.
Easy to put together. Charged the battery, plugged it in, and started right up, ready to use. but first time using it, the self-propulsion didn't work, at all. Everything else worked great, except that. Nothing happened when I pushing the handles for that. Had to finish mowing my yard without it. I specifically bought this new mower because I needed a self-propelled one. Had to go through the hassle of returning it to the store.
On my second Hart Self-Propelled in a week. First one did not engage gear box so no self-propelling. Then, to add insult to injury, I had to pay someone to haul it back to Wal Mart to return it less than 3-hours after receiving by Fed Ex. Even then, this model not sold in that super center. Should have been able to have Fed Ex come and pick it up on the return. Ease of return is not a part of Wal Mart philosophy.
Used it 2x since it was delivered, the self propel feature is not good, when set in Max Speed, pace is slower that a normal average walking speed. I cut my lawn every 2-3 days so I'm just cutting off a very small amount so I want to at least walk normally. As for the cut quality… seems to be good. Will call support to see if there's any assistance and/or adjustments that can be made and will post a review update when I've done that…
After using this mower weekly for 4 months now, I would not recommend it. It does not cut well at all. I have to double and triple cut for evenness and it easily stalls. It is not really that powerful for 2 blades. I purchased it because I'm already in the Hart Tool ecosystem but will not be purchasing anymore Hart lawn tools.
