i don't know much about clamps but this was perfect to hold some glass together without scratching it and easy to use.
I have been refinishing and fixing my bedroom side tables. The Hart 6” bar clamp has helped me with this project. The tabletop has seen wear and tear over the last ten years. I had to remove the tabletop, sand it, and give it a new coat of paint and stain. When it came time for me to put everything back together; the Hart 6” bar clamp came in handy. I used the bar clamp to clamp the legs of my side table into slots so that the ends were flush with the tabletop. Clamping the legs to the tabletop did not take much clamping pressure but I was glad to know that the Hart 6” bar clamp could grip up to 600lbs of clamping pressure. The HART 6” Bar Clamp has cast iron jaws with non-marring pads. These non-marring pads were useful because I was afraid that the pads would damage the wood of the tabletop. I assure you that NO marks or damage were left by the pads. The HART 6” Bar Clamp came with a durable wooden handle for better grip, performance, and torque. Also, it’s made with high-quality materials, so it’s durable enough to handle any woodworking task I need it.
This clamp does a great job for small to medium size jobs. I used to repair a cabinet door that came apart. It was easy to use and it turned nicely and held the molding on the door very well until the glue dried. Wide enough space for larger jobs such as 2x4's. Worth its value.
This Hart made clamp appears to be well made and strong. This clamp opens 6 inches wide and has a 2 ½ inch width. It is made with cast iron jaws and has blue well made pads to protect your material from pressure damage. The clamp is noted to clamp 600 pounds of pressure. I have used it twice so far and have been very satisfied with the grip.
This 6-in clamp is very easy to use. I really like the swiveling clamp head that can account for a multitude of surface angles when I'm clamping my objects. The spring tensioner release helps me quickly set the clamp to the desired position and then I can screw it in for the desired tightness.
This clamp works perfectly for what I need. I also have some cheap-o ones and the quality between the two is stark. This one is much more sturdy and able to adjust to fine amounts. I also like the rubber ends since most of the things I need it for would not benefit from metal digging in. I haven't had a problem with these clamps yet and I've had them under quite a lot of strain. Definitely recommend!
I gave this clamp to my husband who is a retired carpenter. I don't know anything about clamps, but he says that this is a good, strong clamp. He told me that he would recommend it to anyone doing any kind of wood work and needing a strong clamp to hold their project together.
I've used this to hold to pieces of wood together while it set and dried and it worked great. I now will be using this for anything that has a long dry time. I've never really thought about it until I received this how handy of a tool it really is. It's made well and is simple and easy to use.
Good build quality, the item is a little harder to understand, but overall a good clamp choice.
I'm making a wooden topped lapdesk and used this bar clamp to hold the wood down to keep it from moving when sanding it. It performed well - the wood didn't shift when the screw was tightened enough. Nothing shifted. Having worked with wood for decades, it's a sturdy enough bar clamp. My son tried it - his hands are larger than mine and he had a hard time getting his fingers in the area where the release mechanism is located though - that should stick out a little further and it shouldn't be a smooth metal - it should have something on it to make it more grippy.
