HART 7-inch Block Plane

I like this small plane, handy for when you are working on either small pieces of wood or just in a small area on wood where a standard size plane would cause to much of a problem. nice to use, fits in the hand easily and adjustment is simple. Really happy with this one.

Decent little tool for what I needed it for - knocking a 1/4th of an inch off my wood gate after it expanded from rain and wouldn’t close. Took a little while to figure out how best to use and adjust the blade to a good spot. Once I got it down I was able to use one hand while holding the gate door stable with the other. That was pretty much what I was looking for from this type of tool and it worked so 5 stars.

So i decided to use this to make a homemade picture frame. After getting it all set up properly & the wood clamped down, I attempted to use it. I didnt have the blade 100% secured, fixed it and began again. After fixing it, it was a breeze to use. All the plane needed was to be set up,& then a little muscle behind it. It went flawlessly without any divets or splintering. I decided to use basic 1 inch untreated wood. It was a little rough maneuvering it, but it probably had something do with the wood itself. However the cuts were precise, and everything turned out nice and even.

This is a solid block plane. Good weight to it and no flimsy parts. It has a contoured wheel for adjusting the plane depth. It makes it easy to grasp, turn, tighten and loosen. So far it has stayed tight with use. The handles are also of a comfortable size and grip. Feels comparable to other block planes I have used. Nice and sharp.

I used this to plane the top edge of my bedroom door. It has a tendency to stick when the weather turns got and humid. It did a good job. Every tool box should have one.

So far I have only used this once on a door I needed to take care of. It worked great. It shaved it nice and clean and was easy to work with. I look forward to using it more.

I like this Block Plane a lot actually. It works really well. My favorite part is that it has one adjustment rather than the usual two. This makes it simpler to adjust the blade and keep working. The only downside is that it doesn't have the "V" groove like some of the others do. This helps keep you in line and on the target. Unfortunately, this one does not have that feature. This block plane is heavy and seems like it is going to last for a while. For what it is, even without the groove, I still like it. Overall, I do recommend this product.

The block plane seems to be a good tool. The blade adjustment is tricky but can be done to the space you need for the job you are doing. It does a good job, the tool has a little weight to it. So changing the blade as you use will assure a good, easier job!
