HART 8-Pound Sledgehammer PowerStrike face

Only had it a week but already two occasions to use it. Does exactly what you have always wanted a sledge hammer to do... only this one, with the coated handle is by far the most comfortable sledge hammer I have ever used... (can a sledge hammer ever be used with comfort...?)

The hammer looks and feels really heavy duty one. The hand is well locked into the metal to create a sturdy hammer. Its great tool for all contracting workers. I work as part time construction worker and i can say the hammer is well designed for comfortable handling.

You will never have to worry about the handle on this sledgehammer because it is not wooden. It is made of a composite like on the Estwing hammers. Ergonomic handle with non-slip material. Very well built and great for hard work anywhere a sledge is needed.

I am so impressed with this sledgehammer. The soft rubber easy grip handle makes it so easy to hold and aim plus it has a built in hole to hang it with. The side strike can come in handy in tight spaces. It is just the right weight for most jobs, I have used it to pound in fence posts and drive in spikes for decorative timbers in the garden. I can see it coming in handy for future projects. High quality feel and look.

This Hart 8 pound maul is a great replacement for a 10 pound maul with a wooden handle that was about 30 years old and recently broke. This maul, with it's fiberglass handle and rubberized grip, is a welcome replacement for the broken one. It is lighter and so much easier to use thanks to the rubber grips. Also, the fiberglass handle reduces the impact vibrations significantly. Another plus is the "eye hole" on the tip of the handle that allows you to hang the maul on a hook to keep it off the ground. I am very pleased with this new tool.

When i agreed to the 8lb sledgehammer i really didnt envision it being this big - its HUGE!!! and its a really cool looking tool! black rubber grip handle with blue highlights up and down it. and the steel hammer part is almost too cool to wanna scuff it up banging on things! this is just a great looking tool, and 8 lbs feels a lot heavier than you might think. It also has a flat hammer on one side and the flip side is a pointed face, giving you 2 different options for your demolishion needs. Its gonna come in real handy this fall when i have to remove my current steps and pour new concrete! Great tool that looks great doing it! A+ PS - it came in a HUGE box filled with padded paper so it didnt burst out of the box during shipping! I wish my breakable items were shipped with this much protection!

This sledge is the real deal. Good, solid grip, over-extended flat head, with a flip side that will tackle rocks and the like. I also like the handy hang loop at the grip end. This is a winner.

I like Hart tools and think that they offer a good value/price ratio. This piece is no exception. Ships in a large box, but well packaged and won't accidently hurt anyone. Pros: Sledgehammer is well balanced and easy to carry and swing. Hammer seemed well made and forged properly. Handle is sleek, but has a good grip. Attractive looks Cons: Not sure if the hammer will stay connected infinitely, but for the price, this is a great piece. I would buy again.

I think this sledgehammer would be used more in demolition than driving in pins, stakes or spikes. The big end is not flat it's curved a the small end has an raised cross on it.
