HART Cleaning Soldering Iron Tip

Small but handy for cleaning your soldering tip. I had never had one of these, and it's a better option than a rag or something else flammable.

I picked this for my husband. He's extremely handy and has two toolboxes filled with tools. This is to clean the tips of a soldering iron. It comes in a gold colored case that almost looks like a Christmas ornament. Inside is a golden, metal mesh cleaning tool. It reminds me of a steel wool scouring pad. My husband says it works well. I think it would make a good stocking suffer for someone who is into their tools.

It's basically a brass brillo in a brass coated/colored salt Peter that allows you to insert your soldering iron to remove excess solder from the iron's tip. Somehow the "brillo" grips and removes the excess when it's pulled out, like nail polish remover sponge. The casing looks like it can be placed in plain sight anywhere in the kitchen and it'd look like a scrub holder, so it's not very hardware looking. It's just slightly taller than a AA battery. I'd buy it again.

This is a great tool. Basically, you take the iron soldering tip to the sponge that sits in a case, and move it around. The sponge is made from brass coils which are softer than the tip plating, yet harder than the oxidation that forms on the tip. The sponge won't damage the tips. No water required, meaning less chance of oxidation and won't reduce tips temperature.

This was much needed in our house. We do a lot of crafting and use our soldering iron a whole lot. It started getting sticky so when this arrived it was a Godsend. Now we are back to crafting and making our projects and having so much fun, thanks to this cleaning tool.

Aluminum container with brass coiled sponge are of good quality and are effective when cleaning soldering iron tips. Makes the job easy! The sponge is also great cleaning tough spots on pots/pans! Seriously a great tool to keep your soldering iron ready for your next task.

First of all, love the look of this...nice and shiny! I will say that it is very lightweight which is always a plus. It does exactly what its supposed to do which is clean a soldering iron. Works great, no complaints.

This iron tip combo pack makes life so much easier. Very cost effective, really easy to switch, & they don't stay very hot. I really appreciated they didn't change colors.

My husband has been using the HART Soldering Iron Tip Combo Pack when he solders wires while doing stereo wires. It really helps to make nice clean soldiers. It keeps the extra metal pieces off the tip of the soldering iron. The tip helps with the different sizes and shapes of the area that needs to be soldered.

I love the size and look of this. It's a good size and cute design/style. It works good and is able to clean my supporting tips. The only thing I'd change is to give it a weighted bottom to help keep it from moving when I'm trying to clean my tips.
