It cut through smaller branches like butter, and even big branches, it sawed through with little effort. and it's also a lot lighter than I expected too!
I've been slowly building a collection of “Hart” equipment because of the ability to use the same two types of batteries on everything. I bought the 40v weed trimmer knowing it had the ability to have attachments. Eventually I bought this pruning saw extension. I'm used to gas powered chainsaws (and similar machines). I did not expect this to be better than one and the trees around my house for the last 10 years have went untrimmed and some branches thick too. I'm not gonna get a ladder and handsaw these things. Instructions are not clear to the simple-headed people who buy it on your first assembly. It comes with bar and chain oil which I don't remember reading this would need. Of course it would [duh] but to those unaware of bar and chain devices they wouldn't know the added expense of needing oil if it runs out. Used the 40v battery on highest speed fairly decently. Only used one bar of battery after two trees and not a lot of runtime struggling with cuts. A downside to it is the safety sometimes accidentally thinking a twig the size of a pencil that is unreasonably tougher than steel should stop the device. If it encounters anything it deems close to a wire in toughness it shuts off. I ran into this a few times because my pine tree is an a-hole. As much as it can be a pain, I'd rather have a sensitive safety than a hazardous one. Don't worry about it too much. The harness included was not used but I can definitely see the benefits of having it on, I'm probably gonna feel it later. Instructions are unclear how to hook the harness to the device and that the weird extra black clip is for that reason. (Instruction manual book sucks, to be blunt) Length is amazing, I think it's more than twelve feet with the extender and my weed trimmer handle, if it's not then it feels longer, which is good and it's secured together nicely. I recommended highest speeds for this if you want good cuts and no stuck blades that you will break the pruner pole trying to yank out. I went through thick branches too. Probably thicker than recommended and it did well if you take your time and not rush it. Practice makes perfect. The price is too high. $100 for attachment that comes with no 40v battery and just a pole and chainsaw pruner? Should be $50 for attachments. That's my real complaint. Overall I'm not returning this, I'm satisfied. Easy simple tool without filling up My garage with a bunch of small engines I don't have the ability to fix if something goes wrong.
It works as intended and has more power to boot! I also like that it's an interchangeable attachment to my Hart trimmer.
I bought this for a 4 cycle gas powerhead and it works well. It's a little slow compared to a real chainsaw, but it cuts. It might run faster with an electric motor, but it's fine on gas. My oil tank is fine but, it looks like it would leak out of the cap's vent if left full of oil and hung up by the hanger. One should use only the amount of oil needed, and put the rest back in the jug when done.
Well what try the money, especially if you're a amateur
Excellent pole saw. Absolutely great.
It worked really well and the extra extension that came with it is a bonus.
Easy to install, works great. Makes those hard to reach branches an ease. Little front heavy with the full extension but manageable.
Took the side I'm out of the box assembled it used it one time after filling with oil set it on my workbench came back to it cause I decided to work with it, but I guess it was a month ago. I used it to find out there's no oil in it upon further investigation found out the oil tank was cracked inside where it was secured to the motor assembly.
Have no idea if it even fits because I haven't received it! Was told by an employee you didn't have it anymore so I went online. There's obviously a problem with FedEx that a robot can't solve and no one is willing to try to resolve. This was a significant purchase for me that I'm really regretting at this point because I actually need this tool.
