My dog plays a lot this time of the year to burn off excess energy. The product is easy to apply to her and it doesn't have a chemical smell that other collars have The collar has a dual buckle for enhanced strength in staying on the neck.. My dog seems to have no issues with this collar. I received this product in exchange for a review I previously used several different brands of collar. . This collar is stronger and more effective that ones used.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I fitted our collie with the Hartz Ultra Guard Flea and Tick Collar a few weeks ago in hopes of limiting the number of ticks that latch on to the poor girl every spring and summer. The fit is good and didn't seem to bother her much. It's hard to tell what kind of long term effect the collar will have but the results after 3 or 4 weeks has been pretty good. We've only pulled a few ticks off of her compared to 5 or 6 per week, and those ticks were by her hind legs which is a good sign. The collar is flexible, seems comfortable, and is waterproof which is convenient during the summer. I'm very happy with the collar so far. My beagle is prone to allergies and if he gets fleas, it makes things worse. This collar has proven to be effective and I haven't seen him scratching like he was after we would go on our walks/hikes. My beagle loves swimming and he can still wear this collar and get in the pool with us without having to remove it. This was not harsh or powdery and didn't have a strong odor. It hasn't irritated my poochie and seems to work great! The collar is soft and flexible and can get wet and is still effective. Before using this particular brand on my dog, I called her veterinarian just to make sure he recommended it. I worry about using the wrong product on my pets without asking their vet first. The vet said the Hartz brand is highly recommended. Since my dog, Sadie has been using the Hartz UltraGuard Flea and Tick Collar for Dogs, I have seen no fleas and no ticks! She used to come in the house after going outside with at least one of the insects on her, if not both. It's been so nice not seeing her scratch her itches all the time. I have tried different brands of flea and tick collars and haven't gotten the best results as I have with the Hartz brand. I will be using this product from now on for my dogs because it works! EASY TO USE AND LONG LASTING

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a Boston Terrier, and she likes to run and get into anything and everything outside. So far, the collar has worked, and she has had no fleas or ticks. The downside is that the clasp on the collar doesn't work well and continues to come off. I personally did not smell any odor from the collar, but I know others who have experienced something different. Good product overall; it just needs some help with the clasp. On a positive note, the price point is great, the length of time it lasts is also nice, and I really like that it is waterproof. My Boston has been wearing hers for a few weeks now, and she doesn't mind it at all! She is a happy fur baby. I received this product complimentary in exchange for my honest opinion.

I have three dogs and I purchased three of these in November from our Walmart store. I got them for the winter months when fleas and ticks should be minimal. I previously used FrontLine and most recently the Seresto collar. I never had a live tick on my dogs since using those products. Since November, less than one month, my dogs have been hit with more ticks than I have seen in six years on my dogs. I have had to pay my vet to remove tick heads at about $70 each. As I said I bought these collars for the winter months and was going to return to the Seresto collars in the spring, but I trusted the 7-month life promised on the collars. Now I have lost my receipt and cannot even return these lousy collars. Do not waste your money or your dog's health.
