Finally answered my son's dream of owning a G1 Hot Rod figure. The transformation is, no surprise, a bit basic, but that's exactly what I expected. Being a G1 figure, he doesn't pose at all, so if you're looking for a dynamic cartoon accurate toy, you're looking in the wrong place. But if you're after the future leader of the G1 Autobots, this figure will be more than perfect for your collection. Highly recommend.

Had this when I was a kid and now I passed it along to my son. It's good to remember. Money well spent.

Arrived swiftly and looks great in my collection! Hopefully, more G1 Transformers will be released down the road. I'd definitely acquire more!

Just like the one in the 80s

My brother is a die-hard Transformers fan. This reminded him of his childhood-- he was SO happy with it. He's a collector and is going to keep it in the box, so I can't comment on it's durability or "play-ability"; but going just on looks, he was very happy.

I have an original Hot Rod from 1986. This looks and feels almost exactly like that one. However, they did improve the quality of the transformation at the part where the canopy/wing assembly rotates. It is on a notched swivel on this reissue rather than a screw that would often come loose on the original. Definite improvement!!

well how easy it is to transform If you do not have the one that came from Toys R Us way back then in 2003 then get it, but it is cool but looks the same as the other one from before but this time does not have a little guy that transforms into a gun,

Great figure and love the vintage packaging! Only complaint is it was packaged the wrong way in the factory with the weapons taking up most of the window rather than the car. Easily fixed by opening it up and putting it back correctly as shown in my photo. I never had this figure as a kid as I wasn't a fan of the movie so I'm glad to be able to pick it up now.
