Hauppauge WinTV-DualHD External TV Tuner, Black

Received quickly. Easy to follow directions to install. Need internet to download drivers and WinTV program from Hauppauge website. Use enclosed activation code during download. Run the WinTV program to get all codecs working and test signal. I have an exterior antenna with booster to get 16 channels out of Binghamton NY. I use NextPVR as backend to Kodi nstead of WinTV. Able to download tv guide for free from internet. Able to watch live TV or recordings everywhere using either browser or Kodi app. Tuners works as they should in Windows 10. Able to do picture in picture. Record 2 channels at once. I am using 2009 Optiplex 760 Core Duo Quad core with 4gb ram and it has no problems with recording or playing. I have Kodi on Xbox, Android Phones and PCs for front end. With 2 tuners in this one usb it is worth the price. I can't speak for the remote because I don't use it. Use xbox controller instead.

Works great! As advertised. I want another one! Make sure your indoor antenna cable is not too long for best reception... make it about 6-8 feet long worked best for me, if it's too long you will loose signal strength, even with an amplified antenna. Trust me.

Amazing, connect laptop to large screen TV via HDMI and connect antenna to laptop via USB port and watch TV in a separate window or full screen if needed.

I have been tracking this product for two months. Walmart was first to have it available and at a reasonable price. Product performs as advertised.

Works surprising well with a Raspberry Pi 4. The only thing that didn't work was the included IR remote -- it requires a Windows 10 USB driver for it to work. But you can easily control the tuner with a wireless mouse instead. I should note the official Raspberry Pi TV tuner does not do ATSC TV channels which is what TV stations in the USA broadcast. This USB tuner does do ATSC. No special software downloads. All you need is in the Raspberry Pi repositories. The unit works well sending channels over a 15-foot (~3 meter) long USB cable to my laptop. This item can record 2 shows at once in excellent quality. I did download the latest software version as instructed and you do have to turn off the computer's power & sleep setting as it won't record if your computer is in sleep mode. I have had a couple of other brands and had nothing but problems with them. I have had no problems with the software, but the hardware will sometimes not be recognized, which I've had to unplug, reboot, and then plug back in. Not sure why this is happening. I'm overall very pleased with my purchase.

Some thoughts after a few days experience. Tuner works well on a PC laptop for ATSC broadcast stations . Both Windows Vista SP2 and Windows 10 confirmed. This includes all sub-channels (ie channel 5.1, 5.2, 5.3 etc). Recommend getting a suitable antenna for your location. Cannot over emphasize the importance of the antenna. Included antenna has very limited range. Dual channel functions work and have several options. Recorded TV shows and screenshots will play on other media players. Scheduler not as refined as the original Windows Media Center but does record in full HD quality as broadcast over the air. The included signal strength meter is much better than that of the old WMC - helps you tune your antenna. The included remote control hard to learn. I haven;t figured it out completely, yet. I actually prefer keyboard, hotkey and mouse commands anyway. I haven't tested it on a touchscreen. This dual channel model is not for XBox, nor recording games, nor for input from cameras, VCRs and other media devices. Sound may be limited to stereo, not sure yet.

After a long and arduous set up, we could not determine if the lack of reception was in the antenna or the tuner.

Barely gets 1 channel even with a quality antenna, and lags terribly using a very fast computer. I wouldn't have spent a dollar on this if I knew how dreadful the quality was.
