The HAUSHOF hori hori knif was a gift to myself. This 7" garden knife has a stainless steel serrated blade with a functional cutting edge. I volunteer at an urban community garden. I have used this hori hori to dig out weeds with deep tap roots. Because the sharp stainless steel blade runs entirely through the handle, it has not snapped or bent under heavy prying pressure. I use the sharp edge to slice through thick grass and sod and for opening bags of fertilizer and plant food. The serrated edge is useful for sawing through stubborn weed roots and small branches. The face of the mirror-polished blade has an engraved inch and millimeter markings to measure depth when planting seeds and bulbs. My favorite things about this hori hori: 1. Exceptional value 2. This is a nice gardening tool, I used it on a sunny day while weeding out my flower bed, as well as when I was sowing my flower seeds. I found it to be a very useful tool to have available because of the ease. I found that the measurement feature on the side really helped with recognizing the depth of planting my seeds as well as how far to place them. I eyed it roughly but just the fact that it was accessible was a helpful asset. I also noticed that the rigid edge helped me with tending the soil. Lastly I found that I really liked the carrier it is held in and how it is fastened. This tool stores well whether in my gardening bag or tote. Ready for its next use.
