I bought this because I started having pain in my hand when cutting fabric for quilting. This product is great. It is easier to just push down the cutter with the palm of my hand and slide it along the ruler than to try to grip a rotary cutter and cut. I'm sure the key to satisfaction will be keeping a sharp blade in it. I'm pleased with the price. It was $67.00 at the fabric store. I like the fact that it does not slip when I am cutting. The extra weight of the metal piece on the side seems to hold it in place better. I'm very happy with it. I think several of my quilting friends will be buying one.
Easy and accurate way to cut strips, squares etc. You must use with proper cutting mat as not to damage cutting surface.
I used the same kind of cutter made by Fiskars for several years until it fell from my kitchen counter and the entire blade piece broke off. I replaced it with the new version of Fiskars ruler/cutter combo and it broke the first time I used it! They made a handle into one end of the ruler for convenience, but it actually weakened the ruler. I returned it and bought this one for half the price of Fiskars and it works perfectly! I use it daily and it makes cutting strips so quick and easy! I can't imagine quilting without it. I even bought one for my sister with the money I saved. We love it!
I purchased this item to help me with cutting squares and strips for rags quilts. I love making the quilts but cutting the squares and strips can be tiring and tedious. You do need a cutting mat to protect the surface you are working on. This is basically a rotary cutter attached to a large ruler. You need to apply some pressure when using it, but it does cut. It cuts nicely, once you figure it out. The blade is not that hard to change or lock. It uses a 45 mm blade. I think I will add more grips to the ruler side. I can't figure out why I waited so long to purchase it, but now I'm glad I did. Because I have more quilts to make. I highly recommend it!
These fabric cutters work great.
Great way to shop. Easy, fast, no problems, no delays. Communication was great. Would shop this way again and would recommend to others
This is not easy to use It is clumsy and large. I just feel it could have been made better to cut multiple strips of material. I use it however it is not a piece of cake. Sometimes there are frays and it does not cut thick fabric easily. I find myself taking more time to corrrect cuts than just cutting with my rotary blade
Being right handed, and habitually working from right to left while measuring and cutting strips, this tool seemed awkward and cumbersome.
This works great helps me cut my fabric squares for quilting perfectly
I returned this item. It did not cut fabric, the blade was 1/8" above the cutting mat.
