This product is so awesome! Not only does it work well and provide a very dark natural looking tan but it smells nice too. It has a very nice coconut scent to it. When you apply it use a mitt for best application and coverage. Shake it up before you dispense the foam. It goes on a deep olive green color and dries a deep brown, no orange color at all! I provided pictures for reference. The picture of the product on my application mitt is an excellent reference point for the color development. The mitt is a beige white and you can see after about an hour it turned a dark brown. The instructions tell you to exfoliate and moisturize your skin before applying the product you may want to do that in the morning and apply the product before bedtime. It'll develop overnight and if you want a darker tan you need to leave it on for up to 6 hours. I included a picture of my t-shirt to show that it doesn't transfer to anything once you let it dry. I only applied it to my arms, chest, hands, neck, and face the picture of my arm is after about one hour of development. Now for reference my skin is kind of dark, I'm a light brown color, a 4/5 on the Fitzpatrick scale. I tan very easily and don't burn. So depending on your skin type your results may vary. Additional applications will make you darker but make sure to let it dry thoroughly between applications. I would give this a rating of 10 if I could it's that good and the price is very reasonable. I highly recommend this product.
Works very good. I am pleased!!
Out of all the tons of sunless tanners out there that I have tried, this is the ONLY ONE that has given me a natural looking tan. The rest leave me looking like a tangerine! It scared me the first time I put it on, because it comes out green, but a few minutes after applying, the green goes away, leaving a natural, brown tan. I ordered 4 of these to keep. It is so much better than going to a tanning bed, and healthier too! Make sure to scrub your hands really good after applying. I always wash my hands really good, then dry, and apply just 1 pump to the back of one hand, and rub the backs of my hands and fingers, and blend at the wrists, so that I dont look like I have on white gloves, lol. Smells so good and beachy.
I was skeptical about this product when I got it but wanted to try something different than regular tanning beds or liquid sprays. This is the BEST self tanning product that I have ever used! It goes on so smooth and absorbs immediately into your skin. You see an immediate color difference with no streaks or discoloration. It's not sticky at all and feels good on your skin throughout the day. The mousse also goes a long way so it's definitely worth the price.
wonderful. It smells MUCH better than any other mousse tan I've used. I couldn't find it anymore in stores so I ordered it online. Unfortunately, it came with one of the bottles almost empty from leaking. Since it is pretty expensive I am disappointed. But I will still buy more because I do like the product. It is not a really dark tan though. I do wish it was a bit darker.
i bought this b/c I was really hoping it would smell like their suntan lotions or at least a hint. nothing. my biggest complaint with self tanning lotions is smell. i usually use jergens, it's my fave of the 3-4 brands I've tried... but it can give a more orangy tan at times, so using this brand every 4th application does a lot to neutral that out
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used several different sunless tanners before so I am pretty well versed in how to apply them, the different types(lotions, foams, drops etc.) This Hawaiian Tropic foam was not my favorite. It is a bit runny, and when being applied is kind of sticky on the skin. If you make a mistake- you better fix it quickly! The smell isn't terrible, it's certainly not overwhelming. I left mine on overnight and I didn't have any issues with transfer on my sheets- so that's a plus! You do have to let it dry completely first before apply clothes or getting in bed obviously. When I rinsed it for the first time, it rinsed evenly. It had a *slight* orange tint to it but nothing that would deter me from it. The application lasted a couple days. I wouldn't buy this particular one again just based on HOW it applied.
While I love the concept of this foam, it sadly made me look like I was bruised. I was doing a spot test first to see what it would look like. Trying to chalk up the weird look to just a spot application, I did my whole leg. One of my family members asked what I did to injure myself... Thankful I was able to wash most of it off but sadly it did not work for me.
This was the first self-tanner that I have ever used and I was excited about the price. I ordered the darkest option because I might as well! Disclaimer, I absolutely love all of my other Hawaiian Tropic products. However, I probably became .05 shades darker when using this sunless tan. I unfortunately have to say that I am disappointed because I do not think that the product worked at all for me. I even left it on for the maximum amount of time. I still love you Hawaiian Tropic! Thank you for your various sunscreen and after sun options!
The first thing I noticed was a strong self tanner smell, but it was nothing I couldn;t handle. Immediately after applying you can see a difference, so I had high hopes. It went on smoothly and evenly. A few hours later, I could see the difference. Color was dark, yet natural; not streaks. I was impressed, but that was short-lived. After 1st shower, I could not tell I had even applied it.
