HD Medium Cage Trap

I got this for the smaller cat kittens for TNR, but I found that for the hard to catch adult big cats it was great, the smaller length help them to smell the food easier and they are trapped much easier, but I do attach a 3" Carabiner lock at base so if trap gets tilted during transport they cannot get out. I just take larger empty trap with me to vet for the tnr and they tranfer cat to larger trap during surgery.

Had a pesky raccoon wanting to make a new home under our deck. Sportman's Guide came through with the Duke Heavy-duty Live Cage Trap. Arrived well packaged and undamaged. Set it up and used marshmallows for bait. Raccoon now has a new home deep in the woods where it was released.

Nice heavy duty trap! Was trying to catch a live raccoon for my puppy to chase, and I ended up catching my puppy instead haha. Would say big enough for fox or coons, Easy door opening towards the outside! To release a caught animal just simply flip the trap upside down and the door will fall open.

I LOVE the size of the cage. However, the trap door doesn't open upward high enough like all the other trap cages, only up to 2/3. I'd love to order more if it did.

Although cage is very sturdy and solid all you have to do is bump it and the door closes. The latching mechanism is very touchy and will actually close on its own. Also, I have to use two hand in order to open door to set the trap. I do like the durability of this product, I just wish it was easier to use.

Nicely built cage but does have a design flaw. The door has the two sliding o rings to open and close it but when an animal gets inside, the door closes. But they can knock the cage over until its upside down, then the rings slide and they can push to get the door open. Happened twice before I realized what was happening. Now I tie the cage to a tree or something when I set it it out.

i just got 2 and love the trap BUILT WELL BUT. I not sure about coons in your area but mine FLIP the traps and they do not have a lock on door and when it flips the coon walks right out that kind on money there needs to be a lock for door i should not have to tie down the trap so inlessthey fix that i will not buy anymore
