This is a sugar substitute, and while sugar substitutes may not fully replicate sugar, this one is arguably the best available. Although it is often suggested that it can be substituted cup for cup in recipes, I personally find it to be significantly sweeter. When incorporating a sugar substitute, please consider its potential effects on the texture and consistency of your recipes.

Monk Fruit and Erythritol Sweeteners

Anonymous January 21, 2026

In general, I've found all monk fruit/erythritol combos (crystals, not concentrates) taste the same. Prices move higher and lower like the Dow Jones...I shop intensively and purchase in bulk, as bargains are out there if you dig around. This sweetener category does my blood sugar good and tastes good as well.

I am a sugar consumer and need an alternative for health. This may satisfy the grains of sugar and healthier than the other alternatives. I have a loving cousin with diabetes who uses this in her baked pies and cakes. I am taken the steps and following a tried and true alternative. The regular cane sugar is still in the cabinet, but I am trying.

Best monkfruit on the market!

IrishLassie November 18, 2025

No monkfruit tastes as good! The golden flavor is like brown sugar, but not as sweet. I use less than 1:1 with regular sugar. If I'm baking, drinking, or cooking with it, it is yummy. Love the large-size bags!

This is best low glycemic sweeter on the market. No bitterness or bad aftertaste as in other some of the other natural sweetener products. Happy Walmart carries product.

Great sugar substitute without the chemicals.

Ana May 20, 2025

Great sugar substitute without the chemicals that cause cancer. It's great for diabetics and has no bitter after taste and no calories. Great for baking and to add to your coffee. I have been buying it for a long time now and will continue to do so. It's affordable and not bad for your health.

Sweet with no calories

Jim August 20, 2025

This is mostly written, a corn sugar/syrup derivation. It's 0 calories, so is okay for me. I use this for coffee and cereal. It works fine.

Decent Sugar Substitute, But Not Perfect

Anonymous August 24, 2025

I've been using the Health Garden Monk Fruit Sweetener for a few weeks now, and while it has some positives, I can only give it three stars because it doesn't fully meet my expectations. The good part is that it does provide a healthier alternative to regular sugar. It's Non-GMO, gluten-free, kosher, and keto-friendly, which makes it suitable for a wide range of diets. I also appreciate the fact that it doesn't raise blood sugar, making it a safe choice for those watching carbs or managing diabetes. The large 3 lb bag is convenient, and the resealable packaging keeps the sweetener fresh and easy to store. However, the taste is where this product falls a little short for me. While it is sweet, it doesn't taste exactly like sugar. In coffee and tea, I notice a slight aftertaste that reminds me I'm using a substitute. It's not terrible, but it is noticeable, especially if you are used to the clean sweetness of sugar. When baking, it works decently well, but the texture of the final product sometimes feels different compared to using real sugar. Some recipes come out just fine, while others don't have the same consistency I'm used to. Another small downside is that while monk fruit sweetener is supposed to be very concentrated, I found myself using more than expected to reach the level of sweetness I wanted. That means the bag won't last as long as I originally thought. In summary, the Health Garden Monk Fruit Sweetener is an okay product. It works best for people who are already accustomed to sugar substitutes and don't mind a slightly different taste. For me, it's a decent option but not one I'd use for everything.

Looks like brown sugar but its lacking sweetness. It takes double the amount. And it's expensive. I would not but this again
