Hello Hobby Anemone Pop-up Card Kit, 46 Pieces

This is such a great card kit! Perfect for beginners and experts alike. I made some of these together with my elementary age daughter and we had a great time. The kits are beautiful and easy to follow with high quality materials. It was so fun to create cards on our own instead of buying them and it is so special for the recipients.

What I wanted

This was a fun craft to do with my 4 yr old. She loves doing crafts. There were Many pieces to this. Very pretty when all done. I would definitely buy another Like this.

The quality is very good with all of the pieces. Nothing is thin, it's all thick and nice. Tissue that I had was that I am a first time card maker. It's not my first time crafting, but it is my first time making a card. I find the directions were very confusing. The first card that I made a follow the directions first to last. My card looked OK. The second time, I follow the directions from last first and the card came out better. I highly recommend you do not buy this if you are a first time card maker. If you have made cards before, even one or two times before, I think this would be a better buy for you.

To start the review I'd like to state that this has very cute card stock. It seems to be good quality and the colors are bright, cheerful and beautiful. My issue is with the finished product and instructions. I am a great Pinterest copier. I'm artistic and can make about anything look good. This did not turn out well!!! I tried it a few times and it never turned out like the picture. Saying that- my children and I had a fun time with this pop up card set-we laughed a lot. I wouldn't recommend this to many people. It's not horrible but definitely is frustrating and hard to get it to turn out like the picture example.

The instructions are confusing because there are no step by step illustrations of where to apply the glue. In addition the glue paper is not specified as double-sided glue. The glue paper must be cut into tiny rectangles before using, and then it is difficult to remove the paper from the glue squares. This kit requires a re-write of instructions—drop the left-right-top references and show where to put the glue. Illustrate the stacking process. Other than these issues, the paper quality and colors are nice, and the price is right.

Great concept, and a bargain for the price, you get 4 cards all together. I wish the instructions had been easier to follow. I am a crafter of a variety of items, apparently pop-up card making isn't one of them. I planned to make one and gift it to one of my granddaughters, but I wasn't able to put it together. I ended up just giving her the set of 4 and told her she would need to make this card herself as a crafting project. LOL The girls were all on board with that and planned to make it together. The other 3 cards they could make and gift to friends. It ended up being a fun gift, one she could share, and she really loved it BUT I had hoped to have made it myself.
