The soldering station with adjustable temperature, variation temps and sleep mode options came in very handy for a couple of my projects. Unfortunately I returned it because I couldn't get it to melt the solder wire even after raising the temp twice. I ended up burning out the components I was soldering and had to replace them. In the end, I discovered I was doing it all wrong. You should watch YouTube videos on how to properly solder and why solder won't melt or stick. The tip of the soldering iron must be wiped down with a damp sponge after soldering a few times then you need to tin the tip every so often or it quickly oxidizes and the solder won't bond or even melt. I ended up buying what I referred to as a disposable one for about $5 then learned how to properly use it and it has lasted me quit awhile now. So the soldering station was not at fault in any way, I was. For the price, it's definitely worth it.
