Henckels International Solution 5-inch Hollow Edge Santoku Knife

I did not realize how dull my current knives were until I bought this knife. It is a JOY to use! Comfortable to use and so sharp! I didn't want a cheap knife, but I didn't want to spend a fortune either. This knife has exceeded my expectations, even putting it in the dishwasher, and I plan to order a second one.

I think it's great but i wish it came with a sheath or guard

I've gotten tired of always having to work so hard to cut things up. So I looked online for recommendations and this knife came up. I'm so glad that I got it! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this knife for a few months now. I have introduced more vegetables to my diet and the knives I had up until that point were making dicing and slicing more of a chore than it had to be. That is what prompted my purchase of this blade. The good: it is solid blade. It now takes me a fraction of the time to slice my vegetables, sometimes grape tomatoes give it resistance and I mush them rather than slice them. The bad: for me, I managed to cut my hand on the back of the blade at the handle. It might be my technique or my skin is too dry or something and I hold the blade too tightly but along the index finger where I grip the handle notice my skin would break. Similar to a papercut, nothing serious. I have not had any other flat edges do this to me in the past. Lastly, I do not cut too many meats with this. I don't think I can accurate assess it's ability there but it is the best knife I own for getting through mounts of veggies and fruit. Thank you.

Solution knives are a great value priced line of knives that are perfect for a starter kitchen. Stamped from a single sheet of high quality stainless steel they are light weight and corrosion resistant. A full tang of steel running through the handle makes them stable and sturdy. I like the way the handle is high on the bolster because it provides a comfortable area for my pinch grip. The Santoku knife is perfect for chopping. The hollow pockets along the edge of the blade help to prevent food from sticking to the blade as you slice.
