Henson Shaving 2-Year Shave Set - Razor + Stand + 100pk of Replacement Blades

Been using Gillette blades for years. (Like mach 3, or 4-5 blades in the razor). And the mild henson I got in the bundle doesn't really shave as close as the Gillette mach razor. Been using the henson razor for a month, shaving 2-3 times per week, using new blade per week. Not sure if I'm using it wrong or what...it's a razor, should be complicated, but I can't figure out why this mild henson shave stick doesn't shave as close a my prior gillette mach 3.

Good. I have owned a Henson razor for the last 2 years and love it. I bought this one for my oldest son and showed him how to shave with it. I figure i would buy him a shaver that would last a lifetime vs buying disposable cartridge shavers for the next 4 years for him. Bang for buck is there and I think you get a less irritable shave with a Henson. Also the blades are universal, so if we ever run out of blades, you can get them anywhere.

I'm a shower shaver. I don't look in a mirror while shaving, I just go by feel. I've tried probably 5 electric razors throughout the years and they just don't work good. They'll shave good in one spot and miss all the hard to get to spots. I've tried to safety razors and if you take your time you can do a good job. I commented to using one for a year and I cut myself so many times I finally switched back to a disposable. I saw this Henson razor on Facebook and after seeing so many people say how good it is, I figured I would give it a try. 1st shave was nice and no cuts. 2nd shave was even better since I was learning how to hold and adjust my strokes. The 3rd I promise is the closest shave I've ever had. No cuts and no mirrors. I was using Feather blades. Give it a try.

For almost 10 years now I have not shaved. I've only used a trimmer to cut back my facial hair because I had such bad irritation with traditional multi blade razors. With the Henson safety razor, I was pleasantly surprised. It's not hype!!! I can now shave three times a week without irritation.

I have suffered the spectrum of shaving options, electric, single blade, multi-blade, other DE razors until I found my Henson. While the art of DE razor shaving does take a bit more time; the shave quality and my overall skin health is unparalleled with what the Henson razor delivers.

Coming for electric razor, it has been quite an experience. I had to use foam for the Henson AL13 to slide smoothly through my skin. The shaving is way better but required a learning period to feel comfortable. Getting better as we speak. Good quality and design.

It's a high quality product. The razor is solid. A little clumsy screwing the head on and off to replace the blades, but not sure what can be done about that. This is my first time using DE blades, I've been using disposable 3 blade razors for the past 15 years. My hope was that these would be at least as good and be cheaper overall, and if they give less irritation and all that, even better! Cost-wise, I figured it would take me 15 months before I hit the "break even point" of using this razor vs the other disposable razors. This razor works and it's fun to use. Not nearly as scary as I thought it would be. The RK blades that came with it were disappointing (didn't realize it came with a sample box, so I bought the 100-pack as well), couldn't even make it through a whole shave before going dull. At Henson's recommendation tried some other brands and got some Astras, which are much better, but still can't use them for more than one shave. My other razors, I can get through 2-3 (sometimes 4-5, sometimes not even 1, manufacturing is tough, I get it) shaves, and typically, once it makes me bleed it's a goner, sharp or not. I've been using this Henson razor for a few weeks now, 3 times a week, and I've not had a shave that I didn't bleed some. Which is disappointing. Also, my face doesn't feel as smooth for as long. It gets baby smooth right after I'm done, but that feeling doesn't even last a few hours, while with the other razors, I was good for almost a whole day. It's close, really close, but not quite as close as the 3-blade razors I've been using. I get it, I've got thick coarse hair, *especially* on my chin, which is fairly prominent, so I'm gonna have a grinding stone of a chin no matter what, but my wife could enjoy a little more time with me smooth the day of a shave before, where now, it doesn't make it that long and she's dodging my chin when I go in for a kiss at the end of the day of a shave. So, I'm about $90-100 into this experiment, hoping to save money over time, but not sure I'll get that out of it. I'll probably keep it in our emergency supplies (who knows when supply chain issues or the next pandemic mess things up), or my wife says she'll try it for her legs and see if she can get the use out of it, but will probably go back to our other razors. It was fun, and I'm glad I tried it out. Kinda made shaving fun again for a few weeks just doing something different and new. It's more of a hassle replacing the blade and screwing and unscrewing the head every time, vs just grabbing and going. Also, if there were even just some kind of mark or dimple or something that distinguished the two sides of the head, so that if I set it down, or try a second shave out of the same blade, I can tell which side I was using before. A way to tell or keep track of which side of the blade I'm using. Again, glad I tried, and I might keep using it, but not fully sold on it. I wouldn't have a problem recommending others try it out.

I bought the razor with high hope for success. I also got the unlimited razor blades. After a few weeks of using the razor I am having issues getting a shave that is close enough to what I have been getting with my previous razor. Maybe I am doing something wrong but I have been using a safety razor for 30 years
