Don't use outside
I loved the incredible ease of use and had happy healthy plants until the outside temperatures got too warm or cold. Then the basil got too thirsty and grew roots into the water and turned yellow from too much water. The water reservoir got too hot or too cold and the other plants died. Keep them inside and all is good.

This has been the easiest way for me to grow 6 different herbs successfully. These self watering planters are strong, and because the bottom water reservoir is clear, I am able to see if the planter has water. This makes growing herbs enjoyable and I am already harvesting. The price cannot be beat. I'm ordering 3 more. Hope you consider biting these. They are much more expensive elsewhere.
