HERDEZ ANCHO PASILLA Pepper Paste 7OZ

I'm very excited about these Herdez Pepper pastes. I love the taste of dried chilis, but it can be a lot of work to toast, deseed, and blend into a paste. This really seems like it's able to give you that deep smoky chili flavor with much less work. I'd recommend it as a major shortcut that's pretty similar taste-wise.

Flavorful and so convenient! Not really spicy, but perfect for adding some zing to your cooking. Great to add to beans, eggs, tacos, burritos or use in soups, making sauces or marinades. Mix with softened butter. Tastes bright, clean and fresh. Shelf stable.

These pouches from HERDEZ are great to have on hand in your kitchen or pantry. This particular flavor is a bit milder that the others, but our family loves to mix them with other ingredients for condiments %26 simmer sauces. Overall, quite versatile, but you might need to add some spice, if that's your preference.

I got the Chipotle and the Poblano. Chipotle has a manageable heat level, and replaces an array of spices that I use in my red chili. Poblano has a lower heat, but great flavor, and is excellent in White Chicken Chili. I'm serious about these pouches because they provide mess-free delivery. You COULD use measuring spoons, or you could just keep squirting 'til your soul is satisfied. lol

These Herdez pepper pastes are super convenient. Easy peasy flavor squeezy!!! This ancho %26 pasilla one is smoky, a little fruity, slightly bitter, a bit spicy (just a little tingle on your tongue) which adds real depth of flavor with no effort on my part. It can be used as a rub on meats, an addition to sauces and dressings, a boost of flavor in soup, and so on, and so on... At less than $3, you can't beat the price. It would cost a lot more to buy the dried chilis and a lot more time to get them in a form to use. This paste will always be in my pantry/fridge! (NOTE: The product is shelf-stable when purchased but needs to be refrigerated after opening.)

So i was making a pot of chili and felt it was missing something i opened the cupboard and seen this and thought its going in my chili. I promise i will never make chili again unless i add this to it. it just made it so much better the flavor is amazing. Definitely a must try.

Amazing for a marinade soup and cooking beans.! I like the medium heat also. My new favorite is their new BBQ! In love w/ the pinapple habenro. TY Herdez!

I have mixed feelings. It’s very spicy, hot and has a chile taste that I can’t identify it. Tastes a bit like grass, herbs , or the stem of the plant. Someone might enjoy it. I left it in the back of the fridge.

Not having to blend the chiles or use straight dry powder is a big plus. Saves time and mess. Using in place of powder or chiles takes a little practice. Mostly I make foods medium spicy. Better to under season than over season.

I used Herdez Ancho Pasilla pepper sauce to make a delicious Mexican meatloaf. This sauce was so easy to use to make a flavorful twist to my regular meatloaf recipe. The sauce added extra flavor with no extra time and effort.
