Herdez Taquera Salsa 7 oz. Can

I used the Herdez Salsa Taquera that I received free to make chicken taco filling in my crockpot. I used boneless chicken breast, about a half cup of jarred queso and half of a jar of the salsa taquera and cooked on low till it was done. This was one of the best chicken tacos I have made. It would pass for restaurant quality. The salsa gave it a nice, full flavor that was spicy, but not overly spicy. I will definitely be buying this product regularly.

The Herdez Salsa Taquera, a blend of tomatillos, onion and chile pepper, has a great smoky flavor. For a medium-spiced variety, it has a nice amount of heat without burning your mouth or making your eyes water. It has nine of the tomato sweetness that can come with tomato-based varieties and is definitely one to buy and recommend.

Having never tried any products from Herdez before, I was so excited to give this salsa taquera a try. Now when I try a new product of this nature, I like to first give it a try with something that will not overpower the flavor (i.e. tortilla chip) and really get a full taste of the sauce. The consistency of this salsa taquera was thinner than I would prefer in a salsa, but this did not take away from the incredible flavor of this salsa. The smoky tomato taste had some major kick, so much so that I would argue that this is closer to a hot than a medium as far as spicy level (I can take a LOT of heat and I like it, so for me to say it is hot, trust me, it is hot!). I happen to love a spicier salsa so this salsa taquera was just what I needed! I enjoyed this salsa with tortilla chips but think it can go well with a number of dishes such as fajitas or burritos to name a few. I would definitely be inclined to purchase this in the store in the future, as it was a solid option for a store bought salsa taquera.

The Salsa Taquera is my 5th favorite salsa after trying the other Herdez salsas. This one is very good also and has medium heat which cintas jalapenos and onions. I had this on my burritos and fajitas and love the flavor because it tastes authentic. This can be eaten with tortilla chips as a snack or appetizer. Herdez is a brand that you can trust and the flavor is delicious. I would definitely recommend this salsa as well as buy it in place of other brand salsas that I normally buy.

I really enjoyed sampling this product, it really caught me by surprise! I loved the unique smokiness of this product, which was accompanied with some decent heat! It is a very unique tasting salsa which has left me feeling adventurous, wondering how I would love to use this salsa in the future! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who enjoys trying new and different salsas. The only thing that I found I didn't like about this product, is that it was a little too runny for my liking. I enjoy salsas that are a little more on the chunky side! Otherwise, I will definitely purchase this product in the near future to create some wonderful and tasty meals!

I like this salsa but due to the intense smokiness, I did Init care for it as a dipping salsa with chips. This salsa is better suited for cooking and enhancing dishes like pork or beef. If you don't like the flavor of chipotle, this is not for you. It's intense!

This is clearly not the same I don't know if you guys have changed management ownership and they're cutting corners but this is not the same salsa as it used to be it's watered down the hot isn't even hot it's not even shouldn't even be considered hot it doesn't matter variation of peppers don't send it out if it's not going to meet quality standards that's why you have people who you employed to be the thin line of quality before product is shipped out for sale. I completely understand that peppers variate by myself make my own salsa and sometimes a jalapenos won't be hot there's no rhyme or reason to it it's mother nature but when that product has your name on it and it's saying it is this product and when you go to taste it it's not that product that's not good it's like going to McDonald's and then handing you a Whopper you're not expecting a Whopper back at McDonald's and that's exactly what the heck I just got thank you I'm done. Thanks for all the previous years that I still remember, so I'm jot going to ruin it with your new products

I received the Herdez line to try free from BzzAgent in exchange for an honest review. Of the Herdez line we taste tested this one and it was definitely the least favorite. The texture was way too thin and runny and it had a smoky flavor that was overpowering for everything else that was in it. All you tasted on this one was smokiness then way too much heat for a medium product. This would have been better with less spice and smokiness and more tomatos and other spices to cut some of the heat.

There was absolutely no heat at all in this jar of hot salsa. This could be fed to a newborn baby in terms of spice. Was there a mix up in manufacturing and your mild sauce was bottled as hot? I feel duped and robbed and in THIS economy?! Highly disappointed and will never purchase this brand again.

I've been buying Herdez Salsa Casera for decades, but lately they've started adding xanthan gum and other emulsifiers to their recipe. Now it tastes like regular gringo salsa-- which usually has the basic salsa ingredients plus xanthan gum, guar gum, vinegar, modified food starch, potassium sorbate and citric acid. In other words Herdez now tastes like any other gag-a-maggot American imitation salsa. In the past I've even got friends hooked on Herdez. But no more. I will never buy any Herdez again.
