We've used this new crinkle-cutter on turnips and carrots in the making of fermented vegetables. Cutting potatoes or cukes would be a breeze. It handled these fairly dense vegetables well - although you need to be strategic in how you apply pressure. You may need to make a first cut with a normal knife to obtain a flat surface. Be extra careful when applying pressure to a vegetable that will roll away, possibly endangering your fingers. Basic knife safety applies. Sturdy design - no flex. After moderate use the blades are maintaining sharpness. The handle provides a good stable grip. No complaints so far!

I bought this as a gift for a friend. It is identical to my 20 year old Pampered Chef one which is no longer made. I am very happy with this purchase.
