Hitachi C10FCH2 15-amp 10" Laser Compound Miter Saw

I like the light weight for mobility,yet it seems to be well built. so far it has preformed like I hoped it would. The display in the store was great, and the salesman was very helpful in helping me deceide what saw would do the work that I needed it for.

I'm a weekend project guy. I don't have alot of money to spend, BUT, I don't want to buy something cheap that's not gonna work or last either. I looked at 3 brands of 10" saws and this one had the best features for the money. I spent just a little more for the Hitachi, but I think it was worth it. There's no other saw I know of that comes with a 5 year warranty either. For the work I need it to do, I'm glad I got it !

I bought this miter saw, which is a great product, through Jet and was really impressed with the seamless ordering online processing. But on top of that, it seemed like it shipped out immediately and arrived within a couple of days. Would definitely use Jet again next time when purchasing online. The is the second Hitachi saw like this I have owned. The first one did not have the laser line. I gave the old one to my son. He just bought a new house. He always has my saw all the time so I bought me a new one. It's a great saw light weight and easy to setup and use. I love the laser too.

This tool is easy to use and operate. It is making my first project of building a greenhouse with lumber and cattle panels, and 6 mil plastic a joy. Have not used it inside yet. Fit great on my Sears universal miter saw stand. This is a great tool for a retired do it yourself guy.

I have only used the saw a couple of times, but it works great. The only thing that raises concern with me is that, even with the dust catching bag on, it doesn't catch much of the dust. I have a ton of dust on my garage floor and very little in the bag. But i do recommend this saw to everyone.

I would've rated this product higher but i Haven't used it a ton yet. what i have used it for i am extremely happy with this saw. It took me awhile to align the laser but once aligned, it was easy to get consistent cuts. I paired this saw with a table setup.

Setup is easy. Cuts great and on settings. But ... there was no hole in the gear case to allow sawdust to go into the bag. So dust flies everywhere. I drilled a hole in there but it still spews dust. Service center says it will still spew even if I got the case replaced. So I am examining dust cover alternatives.

People should know that this model is not a satisfactory choice. I purchased it in Feb. but because of the Corvid virus didn’t start using it till the middle of May. I only needed a simple saw since I’m only cutting wood for framing my own work. Two weeks ago it started making a very loud “creaking” noise as I would lower the blade. It’s in for repair now, I’ve been waiting to hear. Can’t image what the problem is? Very disappointed in trying to contact for help and lack of communication since dropping it off to be assessed and then repaired.

Annoying safety feature in the on/off trigger mechanism makes it very difficult and cumbersome to use - not user friendly at a professional level. Additionally, any person with a smaller hand would find it almost impossible to activate and use. The safety button should be on the end of the handle unit to allow you to use your thumb in a more comfortable way. The placement of the laser switch to turn on and off is poorly placed on the lower part of the handle - in a recessed area. It would be better placed on the front of the handle as well as have a lighted button so that the user would know if is on of off. The disk on the "hold down" clamp is too large for smaller pieces of lumber.
