Overall I really like the nailer. I feels solid and able to work well long-term. The plastic housing holding the nail coil is the one downside. I could see where it is lighter and I know when I am getting low on nails. But, I would rather have a metal housing that isn't going to crack when storing the gun in a tool box with a bunch of tools. Course it may never happen; it feels heavy-duty in every other detail.
I have had my first Metabo nailer about 8 months and it has been a great asset. It is light and performs flawlessly so when my old nailer that I can not get parts for blew a seal recently my first choice was to buy a second Metabo. I am happy with my choice.
The price was comparable to most other brands .. Easy to figure out user errors.. Jammed nails easier to remove than any other brand I've used.. A little concerned with plastic coil housing but recommendations say that actually plastic is as tough or tougher than lite weight aluminum..
I used to use only bostich, until I bought one and it didn't even last 2 days. I came to find out that they are not made to last anymore. I already had a roof nailer from hitatchi and its been very reliable. I myself am not worried about weight , I would much rather have a gun that's reliable for years. Thanks Andy ATC Restoration
What I have found out over the years (48 years) once you find that nail gun that has the feel and look, along with excellent reliability there is no need to look any further, light weight well engineered, Metabo done it again, a nail gun I can depend on and fun to use. Designsinwood
On the recommendation of my son, a building contractor, I bought this to help a neighbor build a fence. I have used competing products for other things. The NV65AH did everything it was supposed to do. My unhandy (his claim that appeared correct) neighbor quickly learned to handle it and really liked it. And now I have a Christmas present for my son. After many years, he broke his Hitachi nailer and has not found the time to fix it. Almost all of his power tools are Hitachi.
This gun works great once you get the right depth set . Light weight. The one exception would that the gun should have come with the single fire trigger. You just have to remember to let go of trigger when nailing material otherwise it will fire more than once. It also would have been nice if it had come with a case.
We purchased this nailer to put up new siding on our home. The siding is solid southern pine, custom milled. Our existing siding isn't manufactured anymore. The nailer worked perfectly right out of the box. It was easy to load with nails and the weight in your hand was light and maneuverable.
I have had many siding coil guns over the past 30+ years and the Hitachi NV65AH2 is the best one yet! The weight and balance is just right, the nails feed and dispense properly each time the gun is fired. I was skeptical of the plastic housing for the nails but it seems to be holding up well in the Washington state weather.
I have had the gun for about three weeks, it worked just fine but after two weeks one of screws holding the dust cover on feel off and was lost.Last week an o-ring or a seal went out on it and was leaking air." This is not the first air gun I have owned,I have many, it was oiled every day." The gun has been in a repair shop for a week. I've had to borrow a gun to finish the job.
