HL-L8260CDW Business Color Laser Printer with Duplex Printing and Wireless Networking

Bought this printer in promotion but even paying full price i would be more than happy. This printer works just fine in Linux (Archlinux, CUPS) and the other important element for me when deciding whether to buy or not was the fast that the initial cartridges (toners) will last me forever, unlike the cheaper printers where you get starter toners that last some funny 500-1000 pages..

Sometimes I use Windows 11, but most of the time I use Linux. It was a breeze to set up networked on both operating systems. Print quality and speed are superb.

I bought this about a month ago for my valeting business and it's been great! Works effortlessly with the WiFi and prints all my invoices and advertising sheets. Can't really fault it, excellent print quality and quick printing

This product replaced my Brother Printer that had worked well for 3 years, but needed parts replacing. It is an excellent choice offering Duplex Laser printing with clarity, and precision. Options to change paper type selection on opening paper tray, is excellent if you are switching frequently between headed paper, labels and plain paper as I do. It is faster than the previous model, easier to set up the wireless printing functionality and overall and excellent replacement model

Always used another brand previously (sounds like a sauce brand!) - However this printer prints superbly and is well priced and has reasonable running costs! Will never go back to other brand of sauce!

Good printer, vivid color and toner last forever for home use.

After having a Brother mono printer for 5 years we decided to upgrade to colour. Set up was easy, Wi-Fi connection a little more difficult but got there in the end. Colour is good and no issues with printing. However, there is a reason for only 4 stars. We purposely paid extra for a two sided printer, but, whilst this machine does print on both sides, regardless of choosing flip on long side or flip on short side, the second side is always upside down - not really ideal and meaning we have to print things as one sided. Our previous machine did not have this issue. For this reason I wouldn't recommend it as they could by a cheaper one sided printed version.

I purchased this whilst Brother was offering a cashback the price belies this printer's capabilities. I thought for the price I would accept compromises, only as a daily printer, it hasn't proved to be the case. Easy to configure using a wireless network, the printer was unboxed, up and running within 10 minutes. Useful duplex function, simple to navigate control interface both on the printer and via the software interface results in something that is effortless for printing either a single page document, double sided or multiple presentation packs, all thanks to the simplicity of use that the device offers. Large paper tray capacity with a clearly visible indicator means for home or small office use. You'll be able to quickly diagnose why a print hasn't completed. No more reams of paper to have on standby, a quick glance is all it takes with the option of a manual paper feed tray, or by purchasing an additional paper tray that stacks beneath the printer, should you require output to different paper types or just greater capacity between refilling. I am genuinely impressed at how straightforward printing has become with this device. It's not often the case with other brands I have used in the past. That dread of powering on and hoping the device will connect to wireless network, or the need to reset the paper/colour options to get the results you're expecting. You can see that Brother has applied clear logic to the printer's design and operation. Large capacity separate BCMY toners, fast first page to print, I've noticed the anxiety of printing in a hurry is not an issue you'll have to worry about with the 8260CDW. Power it on for the day, wait less than 30 seconds and it successfully reconnects unassisted to the wireless network and is ready to go. (Not always the case with other brands that I've had in the past, offering a less than reliable wireless connectivity, resorting to manually applying an IP address, or the need to go through the connection process from the beginning - the last thing you want to do when you want to just print and leave the office)! Overall I am glad I made the purchase. The only minor negative is the flush mounted control panel when placing on an above desktop height shelf, but that's something that was addressed with this model's successor, and cost was the reason I didn't opt for that. A more prominent power switch or WiFi status light would have been handy, but the lack of issues I have witnessed to date, means it's not something I feel affects daily usage.

This is the third one I have bought in 18 months. Great output quality, great functionality but very short lifespan. First printer, lightly used failed with a hardware fault after about 1 year, never got past the original cartridges. The second one failed after 6 months with a similar problem but to be fair was second hand refurbished. I am hoping printer No. 3 will last a bit longer

Purchased August 2024, has had light domestic use, it has worked well, without problem until yesterday 31st May 2026. Now, when power is switched onthre is motor sound but machine does not power up for use. Error light flashes orange and error code 08 shows. What can be done to get machine repaired or replaced as it should last longer than it has
