If I were standed on an island with only one type of rod, 7018 would be it. These are quality made in USA rods. They come in a nice plastic case. The only downside is that the case is not moisture proof. 7018 rods are known to be moisture sensitive, so if you let these sit around for any time, you'll need to bake them out before use.

I use these rods for a variety of tasks. I have a fence line that any visitor to my place walks by and I wanted to be sure it was pristine in appearance. I used these rods and they work great. No issues and they are consistent. One of the best prices I can find on them as well.

I used this welding rod on building a trailer frame and it was better than the other brand I have used. Good penetration and the beads were great- burned smoothly .It liked it better than the Forney welding rod I had been using.

This is a good price for 7018 and seems to be a decent brand for the welding rod.

The price is a lot better than the lincoln 7018, especially in the smaller quantities. I ran loads of lincolns in welding school. This rod doesn't burn quite as well. The biggest difference is the slag coating is a totally different color and 'feel'. It seems to be much harder to remove (though user error is always a possibility). The rods also, especially towards the end of burning it, sometimes start to spit off large bb's that I have to grind off. Overall, I've bough them twice, so I can't be too mad. If I could find the lincoln in smaller quantities for a reasonable price I'd go with it, though.

Good rod, a little had to get restarted at times but over all very good.
