Installed 3 weeks ago.So far so good, install was easy needs to come with 90 deg AN fittings instead of straight. If you have a 14" round air cleaner bottom will not fit ,Jegs sells the special one that will fit.Set up was a breeze, so far has been flawless.Hope the reliability is there! I will never use a carb again.
I can't really give a fair rating to my sniper efi yet. It is still being installed in my 74 CJ5. I can say that my mechanic praised the quality of the kit components very highly, and after showing them to me, I have to say I'm very impressed. Being from Holley, I have no doubt that the sniper system will be great - miles better than my previous horrible FiTech system.
I've had this installed for almost a month now, maybe only put 60-70 miles on it so far, but I am absolutely satisfied with this purchase. And I must add, if you have any problems or questions or concerns, the customer support that you receive is awesome. The throttle response and no more cold start issues or dieseling is well worth it alone, then add the reliability of Holley's reputation.......A+++
Took me some time to install on my own. I took my time planning out where to run fuel lines and wires. I’m a novice mechanic and I took my time making sure everything was done correctly the first time. It took me probably 12 hours start to finish over a couple of days. Once it was all hooked up. I primed the fuel system for a few minutes, closed my eyes, and turned it over... cranked faster than it had ever had with the 25 year old 4160 Holley carb! the throttle response is amazing. For my application 1985 Chevy K10 with cruise control, I needed a throttle bracket extension to give the throttle cable more leverage on the bracket. It was very touchy and tough to ease the throttle open from 0. Haven’t installed the extension yet but the reviews Ive read say it will fix my problem.
1969 Ford F100, 351W, C6 automatic. I followed the QUICKSTART MANUAL SNIPER EFI INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS. I have a Ready to Run distributer, so I did not use the sniper timing option. I used the radiator fan option. Installed the fuel pump, coolent sensor, and O2 sensor. I found a holder for the display, and mounted it to the dash. Much to my surprise, I started it up, and it ran great!
I installed this on my 32 ford with a 351w engine set up was easy once i increased idle speed so it would start and run did not like the fuel pump noise or whine so I installed a in tank pump based on recommendations from Holley tech works great fast throttle response
This is by far one of the best investments I've made to improve the reliability of my car. Easy to install.
Only drove it one day. Still needs tuning. Over all better than a carb so far till something fries and I'm stranded. Definitely runs more modern like. Easy install aside from dropping the gas tank. I'm extremely ornery I have to spend an extra 30 on hardware that's NOT included to get me going again (after I spend over 1300). No more coughing, bogs or pedal pumps. Its there, it's quick and it's one stiff foot cramping pedal now.
I bought this kit about six months ago and have since put 5,000 miles (consisting of highway, town, and off road) on the system with out any issue. I installed the kit on a 1984 GMC Jimmy (full size), 350 motor, 700r4 trans. Everything you need to install the system comes with the kit. Instructions are very comprehensive and clear. The system fires right up, it takes no time to tune it's self to perfection. The system has never failed to fire up whether it be in 100 degrees outside or 30 degrees on the first turn of the starter. The only reason I did not give this product a full five stars is the the throttle bracket I received moved when the throttle was depressed preventing it from going WOT (TPS read %70). I have a QJ intake on it now, so I had access to both bolt holes in the bracket. I put a stud in to the other bolt hole and messed with the nut it until It tightened down. It was a tight fit and I think I just got lucky, I'm not looking forward to taking it back apart. Everything else is flawless, and if Holley fixes the bracket it will be an easy 5 star rating.
I was not able to connect my auto transmission kick-down rod on my 69 Mach 1, to the Sniper EFI. Holley tech support sent me to Lokar for a cable and the connection hardware. Lokar advised me they may have a cable that could work, but they have no solution for my current kick-down rod connection problem or for the $85 cable they are willing to sell me. Lokar suggested that I would have to build my own connection hardware for either kick-down setup. When I called Holley/Sniper back they suggested that my Sniper EFI universal Master kit didn’t mean it would fit everything. This is very disappointing considering my current Holley carb setup has an available kit for kick-down cables and rods. If Holley would have included the kick-down kit mounting flange and hole this would have been a very simple fix. I’m not sure if only Chevy vehicles were tested by this product, but the Sniper EFI has no design consideration for Fords with auto transmission. Looks as if I will be building my own kick-down rod connection. My Jegs purchase experience was great as always!
