I just went in my rattling Holmes box fan to clean it and to put in 2 screws to stop the loud rattling due to the previous screws in the back having fallen out this year. (it fell a few times which caused that). I must have scraped a wire or something when replacing the screws as it no longer works. I almost cried. I have never ever had a better fan. I am in the market for another Holmes & am in hopes they are made the same as my old faithful was...now laid to rest... Funeral date pending...lol
Love the fan but cord was chewed by dog. I need a new cord and tryng to find out where to purchase. Tanks
Died after 3 years of white noise use. Took it apart and cleaned it out but no luck.
I bought this 2 motnths ago and its been... Ok! Its first of all very disappointing that the cord does not come out at all I've used tools even still does not work. The fact that the switch is in the back is stupid I'm glad Holmes saved a few cents with that one. The mother is good and the fan is not overly loud, if you use your fan for white noise it is pretty good, and it cools my room as well. One thing I really like is the replaceable fuse on the plug that is helpful over the lasko fans I have previously had. If I had the choice I would take back my old lasko but until this fails I'm going to keep it.
Why have a cord that didn't come attached if you can't remove it. Trying to follow directions to store in original box, but you can't get it in the box with the cord attached and you can't get it loose no matter how hard you pull. Very poor design.
I bought two of these fans. They blow air great, it's not really quite it is very loud even for white noise. I am the type of person who keeps boxes for certain purchases to put them back in when no longer needed (eg. summer nights turning winter.) It is time I pack them away and I cannot for the life of me get the wires out or am able to remove the feet. I have searched for a solution but have not found one. It would be great to have them easily removable when no longer needed for use.
I bought this unit just a few days ago. It works but it doesn't put out much air. I have a 5 year old Lasko box fan and it works much better than this unit. The design of it makes it really hard to use in a window or really anywhere because the dial to adjust the speed is in the back middle of the unit. Also, the handle is recessed into the unit which I don't like because it's hard to grip. The fan seems flimsy.
This fan does its job but it has two or three very dumb design decisions that are entirely about saving pennies in manufacturing, even if they cause the product to be considerably more annoying to use. Where do MOST box fans ends up? WINDOWS. It's almost always IN windows. So who thought it was a good idea to put the controls all the way in the back? My last box fan had the controls on top, like almost every other box fan I've ever seen. Now i have to awkwardly reach behind the thing and pull it out of place on the windowsill, so what previously was a easy is now an annoying task EVERY SINGLE TIME I USE THE FAN. So I'm real glad you guys saved literally pennies of plastic and wire by moving the switch to the motor housing, but i will never buy another Holmes product because i hate seeing stuff get increasingly expensive but the the design gets worse. Also, the cord sticking straing out punches into window screens. Honestly don't trust the reviews on this website, they are all too glowing. Search google for other reviews and you'll see my complaints are far from unique.
It's a fan......problem is the actual fan part fell off the motor shaft within a week of purchase
I never received my order, I received an air purifier instead….?
