Holmes True HEPA Console Air Purifier with Filter Life Progress Bar and Quiet Operation, Large Room - Black (HAP8650B-NU-2)

We have a wet/damp basement. We do use a dehumidifier. Unfortunately, that does not diminish the moldy/mildew odor that I can smell the minute I enter our home. Having our basement waterproofed plus mold abatement is not financially feasible right now. So in the meantime these air cleaners are taking care of these issues. I purchased two air cleaners (I use both on high 24/7 in the basement) plus extra filters.

A co-worker told me he had purchased this unit and raved about it daily. I purchased one for us, as we have 3 dogs and constantly are having sinus issues. I had never thought about the allergens in the house being the cause. We have had ours running non-stop since I purchased it and can see the difference with less dust in the air. This purchase was for my son for his house, after seeing ours he wanted one. Great purchase! Easy to use, very little care - long life hepa filters.

Unpacked it, installed the 3 filters, found a spot for it and plugged it in. Been working flawlessly for a month now. We have it in our "kids' room" with the animals we rehab and it has made a huge difference in the smell of the whole house. You would never know they were in the room if the door was closed. The room is about 12x12 and though this is meant for a larger room, I run it at half speed and it does a great job. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I just hope it continues working this well for a very long time.

Bought it for my wife who has breathing difficulties and is very sensitive to dust and other air contaminants. Have had this unit operating for a month and she is delighted with the results. She says there is a huge improvement with her breathing. This unit well suited for a larger room, which is where it's used. Very happy with this unit.

For the first time since I moved to Oklahoma, my allergies-while in the house-are gone. I am buying more of these for my daughter. Pain is gone, "drip" is gone. Highly recommend this air purifier. It is loud on higher settings. However, after initial half hour I have used lower setting only. The filters appear to be easy to change.

I got this when my Allergies and Asthma were the worst they have been in 10 years!!! I was desperate! I researched others and this had best reviews for longevity, quality, value, square footage of space cleaned and results. I used it right away! Cleans better than the one twice as expensive, that I ordered on line, the same day we picked this one up at Walmart!! This one just desn't have the timer.... not a big deal!! This one Cleans dog dander, pollen, dust.... everything !! great machine. It says 300 square feet, but we have a large bedroom and worked well ! Great machine!!!!

I ordered this, because I am in an apartment, and my neighbors smoke, and it comes into my place. This unit takes ALL THE NASTY SMELLS OUT. I cant even tell anymore. It does have 3 ! filters when its time to replace. But still well worth it. !!!! I even tested the theory and turned the unit off, and the smells came back.! It is alittle loud on setting 4, but I just turn it down.

I've had this now for about a week. The helpa filter was a must. So far, the unit is working fine and I have noticed less sniffling. Noise could be an issue. The sound it makes is like a 'white noise' machine. Settings 3 and above are very loud. My main complaint so far is how this arrived. I had it shipped to my home. The unit itself seems to be ok. But the condition of the box has me concerned that maybe something was damaged and I haven't discovered it yet. The box it was in was very beat up and had several holes. One of the holes was very large, about 3" x 5". UPS apparently decided to hide this by putting their large sticker over this hole. There was also another large hole along the bottom edge. Even the Styrofoam inside the box was broken and crumbled. I wasn't home when this was delivered, but in the past the drivers have literally thrown packages at my door. The condition of this box shows that my package had a lot of abuse.

Really moves the air. Has made quite a difference since we purchased it. It is a lot louder than I was expecting however. If I run it on 1 or 2 it is fairly quiet , but when I go to 3 or 4 it is REALLY loud. Overall happy with it! Has helped with my breathing!

This unit works well. It's a little bit loud on the higher settings, but on the lower settings it's fine. It's too loud on high to watch TV. We simply turn it on high when we leave, then turn it down to low when we return. The upside of that is that it also works good as a fan, it really puts out the air on high. For bedroom use, I'd recommend putting it on high during the day then on low at night. On low the noise is hardly noticeable. Overall, it does an excellent job of filtering the air, not a cough in the house since we got it. Combine that with the relatively low HEPA filter cost, this unit is a win-win.
