I've put together a lot of furniture over the years. The quality of this piece is poor. The instructions suggest the use of a drill to put in the screws. DO NOT do this. I did everything by hand. Some of the pre-drilled holes were already too large and the screws couldn't even snug without stripping. I can only imagine what a drill would do even at the lowest torque setting. The finish is inconsistent. In some places it looks wonderful. Others, not so much. The hardware for putting it together is poorly cast and super cheap. Some of the engineered wood is so thin that I actually cracked through (bottom shelf) just trying to tighten the connectors. As I stated, I've built these types of furniture a lot. This was not due to my inability to follow instructions or over-tightening. Just poorly designed and constructed. Also, because of the design, the drawer does not overlap the front, so there is a gap around the drawer front. I should I have noticed that in the pictures. I've paid less for a better quality product. Avoid this nightstand.
