This pie is just what I was looking for for. Homemade! I been baking since 1987 all bakery. My pie as well was a bit damaged but I didn't care because it was justifying everything I anticipated. Crust perfectly mixed rolled out and was baked to perfection . The apple filling was also just right Sweet and just like it was fall Surely that first piece alloys falls apart or only get half did not lose 1 apple. Also keep in mind the delivery driver that delivered my sister's said he dropped it then carried sideways. lol I will be ordering this pie next time or anytime this year unless I find a better one but I don't think I I'll I also ate the whole thing to myself ! I didn't share. Maybe I will next time but I really could go for a piece right now! I'm not sure if this bakery is open to the public where you can pick up the pie or sold in stores hopefully eventually they will!!!
It had a strong flavor of cloves. I never heard of putting cloves in an apple pie before? I did love the texture of the apples. Just how I like my home made one. And the amount of apples was delightfully satisfying. A very “full” pie.
the crust didn't appear to be done. it was rubbery and pale. i put the pie in the oven at 350 degrees and baked an additional 1/2 hour. it came out browner and had some crispiness to it. the majority of apples were the consistency of apple sauce with an occasional apple slice. the spices were different than just cinnamon and nutmeg. maybe it was more nutmeg than I'm used to. the flavor grew on me. ive been craving apple pie. i guess no one makes the flaky Crisco crust i was hoping for. all in all more homemade flavor than Mrs. Smiths.
THIS PIE LOOKED GOOD IN THE PICTURE (DECEIVING) AND IT LOOKED GOOD IN THE BOX (ALSO DECEIVING). THE CRUST WAS SOGGY ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE PIE. THERE WAS WAY TOO, TOO MUCH CINNAMON. HARDLEY ANY SUGUAR. THE BALANCE BETWEEN SUGAR AND CINNAMON WAS VERY FAR AWAY OFF. ACTUALLY, THERE WAS NO BALANCE, IT WAS ALL CINNAMON. THE SIZE OF THE PIE WAS GOOD FOR THE PRICE. THE REST OF THE PIE WAS NOT WORTH $25.00
Was mushy!!!
