Gets rid of all the odd smells that are in the apt. Works extremely well to get rid of odors like stale smoke, diesel fumes and just that old stuffy smell. Keeps air circulating. Love the fact that the filter is washable and it's not an added expense of buying a new one. Runs super quite, I don't even realize it's on. I agree with another review that there was a smell of plastic when I first took it out of the box but the smell was gone in under 24 hours. If you need a purifier this is a good product for the price.

After after a few days the chemical smell goes a away. Now I walk in my bedroom and it smells very fresh. Will buy another one for my living room but use the carbon filter to counteract dog odor. Love it and oscillating feature don't need to use ceiling fan.

I've only been using the Honeywell Air Genius 3 Air Purifier for a few days, but can tell you it is definitely doing the job. Energy star rated, we'll see if it is... with the next electric bill. I've had several air cleaners over the years and some were energy hogs. We have a small home less than 700sq ft. We are smokers, so we really need a good quality air cleaner. It does clear the haze of smoke. I love the oscillating feature.Tthe unit is large, but fits quite well in our main living area and it does clear the whole house of smoke. I love the three speed controls. the dust levels have been reduced dramatically. We have pets and I have noticed they seem to be more content, not as restless. I have been sleeping longer (that's a plus for me) and I believe the air-cleaner is the reason. I would highly recomment this Air Cleaner.

I've have a Honeywell air purifier for years. I like the permanent air filters with them and their air quality product. I had problems with receiving the two that I ordered for my granddaughter and her roommate and we received one and the deliver said that he delivered too, and he didn't And I called. I waited the 48 hours and was talking to Walmart representative when the doorbell rang at 6 o'clock, and it was the delivery of the second one. The box was damaged and I'm waiting for my granddaughter‘s graduation present for her to open it to make sure that it works And it's not damaged

Put this in my bedroom and have been running it on 4 for 2 days straight. It's very quiet and I noticed no smell whatsoever. I bought this to help with allergies in a room where the window is opened rarely. In just the last 2 nights with this filter, I have noticed a drastic improvement in my runny nose and slept better. Will be buying another for my living room.

having read a lot of the complaints, i found no horrible initial smell, it's quiet enough, and the coverage via fan strength and oscillation is quite good. however, although granted it's only been about a week and a half, i have not noticed the filters getting dirty at all and my place is usually very dusty. that said, my tabletops seem to be relatively dustless, which has never been the case up to now. so all in all, i'm very happy with this fan. hope it lasts longer than some of the other complaints seem to indicate. i've been using it nonstop on 4 for half and week and since then nonstop on 3. i have a very large living room, so i've move it between two different places in the space, and i've used it in a large bedroom as well. all nonstop and with oscillation. i removed the prefilter once and cleaned it (altho it wasn't dirty at all) just to see what that would be like. it was a little difficult to snap the cover back on, i don't know why, but other than that, i've had no problems thus far, and i'm quite pleased with it.

We bought the air purifier to help the air quality for an old apartment that my daughter lived in. She just had a baby, and when they first went home to apartment, after a week and a half at our house, her baby had breathing troubles, and a runny nose. After a trip to the doctor to make sure it wasn't a virus, we decided to try an air purifier. The results were almost immediate. No more breathing problems, and the odor in the apartment was gone. Well worth the money for the health of our grandchild, and children.

I'm a smoker with a 540 sq. ft. apartment. I did use small clip fans at each window to pull the smoke out of the room, but decided to use something in the room & not open the windows. My neighbor was using one of these. I noticed when I entered her apartment I never smelled smoke. I bought this & it works great! I can use it in the hall, my bedroom & the living room/kitchen area. It did have a bit of an smell the first few days, but after that it went away. I have closed my place up & left for several hours & when I came home there was no smoke smell in the apartment. I also use a fabric softer sheet across the back where the air is pulled in & it makes a nice sent in the whole apartment. Can not hear it at night or when watching TV.

We are in a temporary apartment and, while we are non-smokers, our upstairs neighbors are not. The odor from the cigarettes travels through the ventilation and has been awful to live with causing eye irritation, coughing and making our clothing and all around us smell of cigarettes. We purchased this air purifier to eliminate the odors. Until that point, we had been using air eliminating sprays, air freshners without much success. Our apartment is approx. 800 sq ft with open living space and 1 bedroom. As a last resort we made this purchase having researched many models at a "reasonable" price point since we do not anticipate needing this beyond this apartment, but needing something that would hopefully cover as much of our apartment space as possible. We keep it in our living space during the day and move it to the bedroom at night. While it doesn't eliminate the odor totally, it has made it so much more manageable and livable - and, most of the time, I do not notice the odor until our neighbors are home and smoking like chimneys. We keep it running 24/7 on the #4 setting (maximum) and, with the energy saver feature, we are hopeful the energy efficiency will show itself in our utility bill. We have only had this for 1.5 weeks at the time I'm writing this review, so time will tell for a longer term and that's why I'm giving it a more cautious rating but, as of now, we are happy with the purchase, glad it is giving us a better quality of life and breathing while in this temporary situation.

It purifies the air but when i first got it it wouldn't turn on, then it eventually turned on but it is super loud and not like a fan sound, a shrill high pitched screech and the motor inside it vibrates which is also loud.
