I like the ability to be able to adjust the temp and to run the geofencing, but I wish that it had the fan controls in it like my hand control does. Great product nonetheless.
The D6 Controller is not communicating with the Fujitus Mini Split very well, creating a room temperature inconsistency that will vary four to five degrees. There is a direct line of sight between the two devices.
It doesn't control most of the features on my fujitsu minisplit so it doesn't allow me to stop using the crappy remote controls that came with them, which was largely the point.
Im using 9 of these controllers for new Samsung Mini Splits and Cassettes. Each thermostat has its on personality. No two work the same. Sometimes they work well sometimes they let the temperature run in either direction. The app just sucks.. Period. You get better data using the Samsung Smart Things app. Im constantly looking for an alternative.
Temp sensor very inaccurate {placed two digital thermostats in same area. I understand the heat pump cannot short cycle but this thermostat runs erratic. At one point the temp was set for 73 and the unit heated to 78. Never any issues with remotes. Waste of money. I wish that I had read the other reviews before buying. How could one pay so much and get such a poor performing device. Quality control issue?
Purchased three to work with my two mini split systems, all setup the same. one when you set to 78 tells the head unit 82, one when you set the temp to 78 tells the unit 80 and the third one 76 = 76, 77 = 78, 78 = 80 and 80 = 84. Call tech support, again a waste of time, says its my unit, even after explaining having 3 stats all do different temps yet the original remote works perfectly. And this is designed for ductless. about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike!!
The controller cannot hold the appropriate temp at all. If I set it for 68 when I go to bed, it will go down to 65 or lower before I fall asleep, then I'll wake up in the middle of the night and it's 73 in the room. WASTE OF MONEY
We recently purchased 3 identical Century ductless units and three identical Honeywell D6 controllers (one paired to each ductless unit as they are on separate floors). All of the controllers are set to heat and 70F. One of the ductless units is currently reading 80F, another 65F, and the third 72F (notice not one is actually reading 70F). That's today anyway, yesterday they were all different, and tomorrow I expect three different temps again. All of the ductless units were maintaining 70F just fine before we installed the controllers, so they are not the issue. This product does not do the job it is supposed to do - and that's using it without connecting to wifi. Was able to get connected to wifi after lots of troubleshooting and internet searches. The device needs to be connected to the 2.4GHz wireless network, not the 5GHz (which most folks are probably trying to connect to). A typical problem with older smart home devices, but there should be some tech help available in the manual or on the website to help folks who aren't familiar with this issue. Was able to program them to our business hours, but one day walked in and it was freezing, next day sweltering. So it's a fundamental flaw with the temperature sensing of the controller or its communication with the ductless units.
I bought four of these to control my mini split system specifically so I could set a schedule and control them remotely if needed. After a week of trying to connect them to wifi and receiving a "unable to connect to Lyric network", I was informed by Honeywell tech support that the D6 is not compatible with iPhone IOS 14 and greater. Had I known that they won't work with an iphone I wouldn't have bothered with them because they are basically useless now. Don't waste your time with these.
Unit does not work correctly with my Mitsubishi ductless units. Turn on ok but does not shut off.
