What I received was an opened, refurbished item. I haven't installed or activated it yet, but seeing the screw marks on the baseplate gives me a bad feeling.
Before buying this you really need to understand what you are buying and be sure it is what you want/need. This thermostat connects via Z-Wave to various home automation platforms like Smartthings or Home Assistant. The way the device is setup, is that once connected to you smart home system that you will ideally use that for your configurations and control. When deciding upon the thermostat I was going to get I was surprised how many people were complaining in forums about the difficulties they had trying to set schedules, options and temperatures from the device's screen. I question that they understood what they were getting, since doing it that way with the limited options you might as well have saved money and gotten a regular thermostat. My electric company gave me a $50 rebate on this as part of their energy savings incentives.
I specifically chose the one that did not take batteries,And you guys sent me the one that takes batteries.
Difficult to set up. An HVAC company's name was embossed on it. I seemed to have received a recycled unit.
I needed the Z Wave model to sync it to my security system which would allow me to control it via app on my phone and the price at Wal Mart was better than other sellers. Easy to install too.
as far as im concerned, this is the best thermostat. you may find fancier ones with neat shapes and colors, but this the Chevy 350 engine of thermostats, it wont fail ya. on top of that, you can connect it to Alexa, so i can be in my bedroom, turn to my Amazon Alexa Echo Dot and say "Amazon, set the thermostat to cool to 76 degrees." Boom. Done, i love that feature and there are more.
Product display arrived cracked in unpadded envelope.
It not connecting to the WiFi or use it on app. Won't purchase it anymore. Regret buying 😠😠😠
Bought to replace my old Radio Thermostat CT100. Needed Z-Wave capability to connect with an existing system. Installed and Z-Wave connection complete. Called Honeywell support to walk through smart setup. Everything works like it should.
I love how I can control my heat/air conditioning from my phone. Its handy! Although, Honeywell products are known to break down around the expired warrently
