When doing stuffed vegetables o. A smoker this bacon rocks. I love precooked mixed with cheeses that I stuff inside Yukon Gold potatoes or doing a stuffed jalapeno pepper I don't have to worry about undercooked bacon on the inside. I can focus on the bacon wrapped around the item [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Although it's fairly expensive, my wife and I love this bacon, but in our last purchase 2 of the 4 packs were almost totally fat. I have added a before and after cooking picture of 1 of the 2 fatty packs. I hope this was just an anomaly as, usually, the bacon cooks well and is meaty.
I ORDOR A PACK OF 30 AND ONLY GOT 25 AND IT TAKES A LONG TIME TO GET. I DON;T KNOW WHAY, THAY DON;T CARRY IT IN THE STORE
Typically this product has been good, my husband uses for quick breakfast sandwiches almost daily. This morning I thought I might try it and had to open on of the new packages I bought on last weekend, it was gray and smelled rancid. It has the same date on the package as the other two I have..the other two look fine. Needless to say I'm tossing the rancid pack. Odd also is that the shelf life date/production code stamps are differently printed..could be the racide one came from a different processing plant/line. I would appreciate Hormel looking in to this.
I have been buying this bacon for quite a while now. Although it costs a bit more and has less slices than some other brands, it has been worth it due to the high quality and taste. I love the convenience since I eat low carb and this enables me to have bacon and eggs for breakfast every morning at work. However, the last two packages have not been the same. The bacon has been stringy, crumbly straight out of the package, and the flavor is not as good as I am used to getting from this product. I am hoping it is just a temporary fluke, but if it continues I will have to start buying another brand.
Product has changed no longer ready to eat has too much fat Packaging no longer has easy zip close and unable to open package without using scissors. Three times the microwave cooking time now to cook. I normally purchase 5 packages per week but no more
First off this is not thick cut, it is regular cut, but after you buy it one time you know that and can decide if you want to purchase again. I have bought this exact same Black Label Fully Cooked Bacon at Sams Club, Walmart's sister company for many years and it has always been fine. The Walmart version is the absolute worst excuse for bacon I've ever run across. The cuts are all miscuts - very wide at one end, extremely skinny in the middle and about regular at the other end. All of that I could deal with, but they package the Walmart version slices piled every which way piled on top of each other, then super vacuum seal it. This makes it actually impossible to separate without tearing into bits. This Walmart version was just horrible and I'll never buy again. Annoyed at both Walmart and Hormel for trying to slide these fourth-rate rejects off. They should have just turned the cuts into bacon bits.
We recently purchased a pack of your bacon and I layed the strips on my cookie sheet to put in the oven like I have done for years. The bacon shrunk down like 3x it's original size. The cheap bacon we buy has never done this. We were very surprised and disappointed!!!
I have been using this product for over a year and have had no problem until this morning. Opened a new package and thought it looked different when I put it in the microwave to warm it. Never smelled like bacon while warming. When I took it out it smelled bad, almost rancid
I have bought many pkgs Hornel Precooked Bacon and use it for breakfasts and sandwiches. This pkg slipped by quality control . First layer as usual. Next layers were Over cooked and as a result turned into crumbles before warming up. Hope this was isolated incident but expect compensation for pkg that was unusable .
