Solid ham, quality, and precut-we recommend

Patricia January 10, 2026

I'm usually hesitant when ordering a large unit of packaged ham because I hate fat within the ham. This brand rarely has any visible fat at all. Once in awhile, there might be 1/4" of fat on the outside edge in a small area but that's about it. If you want your ham to actually be meat and not loaded with fat zones---you should buy this. It is very good quality. And it's precut which makes it a lot faster for making a sandwich.

Hormel Ham is fantastic to eat!

Mary February 1, 2026

When it comes to buying a ham Hormel is the only brand that I buy. I like the texture and I love the taste. It's very flavorful without being spicy. I'm not a spicy food fan so Hormel has flavor and worth digging my teeth into. I do like my French Mustard adequately spread onto my slabs with bread. I especially love that it's already sliced, so I don't have to cut the ham up myself.

Need a Cure?? Cured Ham that is!!

Terry December 8, 2025

Get yourself some Horseradish Mustard, Nature's Own white Bread, some good deli Swiss Cheese and a few awesome slices of Hormel 81! I enjoy the Ham original; the Honey Ham and Brown Sugar are great with eggs. The plain is so good, you can use your doctor chef skills to make it your own. After one sandwich, you will ALWAYS have a Hormel 81 in the fridge. The thick pre sliced slabs will make you forget bread and cheese altogether. Soooo easy prep for Appetizers.

I recently purchased Hornel ham and was thoroughly impressed with the quality and flavor. The meat was tender and juicy, making it a delightful addition to my meals. Its rich taste and perfect seasoning enhanced my dishes, and I appreciated the convenience it offered for quick meal preparations. Overall, I highly recommend Hornel ham for anyone seeking a delicious and reliable option for their culinary needs.

This is very good ham! The slices are a nice thickness, whether for a sandwich or cubed in a quiche or fried with eggs. The meat is tasty, tender, and doesn't have a lot of connective tissue or fat that makes it difficult or icky to chew. It's kind of expensive for my budget, but I get to use every bit of it.

One tasty ham!

Kathy February 4, 2026

The ham is a very good quality very good flavor. I used it when I made my green split pea soup and it was excellent in the soup it held up. It's a weight and texture was really good. I would definitely recommend it for whether you're doing a soup or if you're gonna do ham and eggs even for sandwiches it's just a really really good product. I was very happy that I got it.

Versatile and good.

Brenda December 26, 2025

When I receive this ham I devide it in to planned meals and freeze. As a single person I get numberous meals from one ham. Grilled ham and cheese, scallop potatoes and ham, navy beans and ham or a Denver omelet are just a few. By dividing it up, I have no waste and makes it easy for when I need it.

Affordable, good quality, good flavor

RealAmerican May 11, 2026

I use this ham for regular sandwiches. I just sprinkle some olive oil on top of a couple of slices and throw them in the oven or air frier for about 2-3 minutes and proceed to use them for my sub or sandwich. I also use it for eggs. I just chop a slice, add a little bit of olive oil to lightly fry the ham for a few seconds, then crack the eggs into the fried ham and scramble them. It tastes almost like bacon.

Pretty good for breakfast

Cappy November 2, 2025

My family uses these little quarter hams for breafast meals. We put them in breakfast burritos, egg casseroles and sometimes just chop some up into scrambled eggs. The taste overall is pretty good but often some of the pieces are tough. I appreciate that they are pre sliced, and the slices are a good thickness, not thin. I would not cook this whole for a dinner, as it can be a bit on the tough side with fat. But chopped up its a great add in for casseroles and eggs, etc.

Always a good buy

Trudi August 29, 2025

Good, consistent quality. Sometimes the pieces may not be completely uniform in thickness. Sometimes there are gristly sections that need to be cut out of a few pieces. The quality has always been consistent that I never hesitate to order this brand. I use it for sandwiches, for breakfast, sliced into omelettes or quiches, or put in the crockpot with potatoes and veggies.
