Horse Size Cool Back Standard Bareback Pad Polyester Fiber Black

My horse has a scooped out back and due to arthritis has troubles flexing to build a topline. Given the shape of his back, finding a saddle that fits seems impossible. He would constantly nip when I would tighten the girth and cinch. I thought he had a health concern but when that was ruled out I switched to changing tack. Sure enough, it worked. This pad is so comfortable for me and he doesn't even seem upset or in pain when I tighten it. It fits well to his odd-shaped withers and topline. I also love how cushy it is for me as the rider. I don't like the stiffness of conventional saddles, which can get to be uncomfortable after a few hours on the trails. I'm so happy with this purchase that I don't think I'll ever buy another saddle again.

i just adore this bareback pad. it helps your bum stay in place and is super comfy at the same time. I've had some great rides with this pad!!!

Fits our large pony beautifully (horse size)--nice handle on the front and you can still feel your horse, without too much bumping along his spine.

Easy to use and comfortable for my horse. I was concerned about whether it would fit her since she has lost her show figure. However, the girth is a nice size. Great buy!

This pad works great. Best part is the buckle on both sides. You could put different girths on if needed. Easy to clean and soft to sit on.

Took this bareback pad with me on an overnight bareback trip with my very bony senior TB. Really helped both him and me stay comfortable though it was prone to slipping a bit but nothing too substantial. I will say it didn't breathe as well as I'd like it too and left quite the sweat mark after only a twenty minute, relaxed ride in the hill country of Virginia in the cool morning. It did its job overall

This pad is comfortable...but the billet holes do not have a grommet so that it is extremely hard to get the girth buckle in the billet hole. This means a real struggle to get the girth tight enough.

This coolback bareback pad is anything but cool. I put it on my horse, and he had sweat running down his sides almost immediately! I actually took it back off and decided to ride without it. It says coolback, I thought it would be something to whisk away or absorb the heat and sweat, but it doesn't. That was the whole reason I bought it, because my horse and I just moved to S. Texas from way up north and I didn't want him to get over heated. The quality is great, but this is not designed for high withered horses. The fit was funny, lots of gaps, dimples, etc. I may try it again this winter when the temp drops into the 50's but until then, it's collecting cobwebs and dust in my storage locker. Don't get me wrong, the durability seems great, it should last a long time, but I don't suggest you get this one if it gets hot where you live!

For what I need it will do just fine. I like that it is very adjustable size wise. I am however, not the biggest fan of coolback fleece, it is rather rough and scratchy. Also, he sweats A TON underneath it, more so than a regular bareback.
